Fellow Hubbers The latest type Polar software, Polar Protrainer 5, has been available for a few months already. I have resisted the change and is still using the older Polar Precision Performance (V 4) Software. For those of you that have used both, are there any advantages to convert? I use the heavier Campy Vento's for training, absolute bulletproof.

Hi PBP, sorry to hear. I reconned the route in '05, so I know how hilly it is. Bad weather will made it really tough! I also had dreams to do PBP this year, but work commitments and injury prevented me from qualifying. Don't worry its back again in 4 years time.

Read in the Benoni City Times that a female cyclist was killed on Pretoria Road on Monday afternoon. It seems that accident happened just North of the Rynfield Terrace Mall. This is the road that I train on 90% of the time. This is hitting me hard, since it is barely 2 km away from where I stay. Anyone has more info? Condolences to the family and friends.

Widget, fiends of ours lost their eldest (17 yrs) two weeks ago in a car crash. Being a parent myself I pray every day that this will never happen to me. I am sorry to hear.

I was part of a project team that built and commissioned a plant that recycles waste paper into paper pulp. To get the plant going took 13 months and we worked 80+ hrs per week for the first six months!! I saved such a lot of money, because the was no time to shop. Zero cycling for the whole period!!

Oh BTW SaddleSore You only have to buy a Polar product once to get the software registered. All future upgrades of the software is FOC and downloadable from the Polar Website.

Polar Website has version 4.03.043 for downloads still.
