  1. As much as I agree with you .... I do wonder how it works adding the BOA to a pair of tekkies .... I sure as heck may just go for this .... Any pictures of these would be nice.
  2. Really should add Bloemendal Lombards Flowline .... 😛 For something that is often scoffed at, it continues to claim its share of collarbones ... 😉
  3. At one point we had to invert the saddle clamp to reduce the height by 20mm .... And the Maritz started GROWING .... now 13 years old and 1,74m 😵
  4. That is the nice thing with DC designers. You can have it custom made. I got one last year with an Afrikaans inscription.
  5. Hoe sê ouma ? "Seker nie verrrrr nie ...."
  6. That RED looks fast .....
  7. Okay thats is one way to look at it. OR ... You need a ASA license to enroll for the next marathon, either annual or day ..... might be a bit of schlep, but certainly possible to ban them ..... being sunny SA ..... we know nothing will happen .... if anything, now that people KNOW how to start earlier, expect MUCH more of this nonsense. They have ONE chance to stop it dead in its tracks.
  8. DC Designers have a VERY nice one for you ... World Marathon Majors City Skyline Medal Hanger Stainless Steel Brush – Home Décor & Medal Hanger Specialists - DC Designers
  9. not YET .... but sure as heck miss it !
  10. As time pass I find I am less worried about the "virtual ride". I want to get my ride in. I am leaning more towards watching Netflix Tour de France or similar.
  11. yes, 29" = 700 Now it is just a matter of the tyre width. Tyres are fully interchangable between these rims 700 is normally given with a mm width, while 29" is given with width in inches. 50mm = 2"
  12. For those that actually want to do a half marathon without fiddling with the bib ... Rhodes Quality Half Marathon Wellington 2025 - Top Events
  13. A very nice trail run for those that might be in the area - TrailFun Holiday Series 2 of 5 : Freedom Day | TrailFun 2025 | Entry Ninja – the best outdoor, fitness and sporting event entries in your area.
  14. WOW !! And still having the audacity to try and justify it ..... BAN FOR LIFE !!
  15. Hiehie ... also swopped mine out for a GRX. My OCD ,,, 🤣
  16. Hiehie .... he certainly is one STRONG rider ....
  17. I bought the 2024 version ... exact same specification, just a different colour. Being a 2023 model, it is priced VERY well .... The only thing I have spotted where they saved a few cents .... the CRANK is not GRX. The rest of the drive train is GRX, but the 2x crank set is "FSA Omega". This wont make any difference to your riding. I LOVE my Revolt. PS - As my first and only gravel bike I am not the best source for comparing this to any other gravel bikes ..... But there are a good few Hubbers doing serious gravel miles that ride the Revolt.
  18. I am 1,75 and got the M/L Giant Revolt.... it is a stretch .... The M in Giant should work well for you. Merida is marginally bigger for the same "size", so best test ride before putting money down. carbon vs alu .... both Giant Revolt and Merida Silex are mid 30's in Aluminium. So you are heading into the 40's for these in carbon. 1x vs 2x .... I opted for the 2x since I wanted more top end on the road, but needed a granny. That said, this market segment is leaning more and more towards 1x. Slim pickings for 2x in this price range. Brakes .... at lower price points this is one area where you have to keep your eyes wide open. Sorry, long winded way to say that at our budget we are looking at : - New Aluminium ... - Secondhand if you want Carbon .... - Even in Aluminium, at the lower price point expect some lower specs on the drive train and/or brakes .... PS - Prices and specs based on when I purchased in November 2024. PPS - I am also a @Titan Racing Bikes fan boy .... but they dont have a 2x in this price range, so I did not dig deeper into their offerings. (I wanted something better than their entry level 2x options, but not the budget for their high end 2x options)
  19. Well, some context for the newbies .... you WON the half-36one .... You two doing the full this year ?
  20. Welcome to the Hub @Karoofan Maybe post a photo of the rack, or more details of the specific rack. Thule has MANY different racks over the years, with many different handles.
  21. And worth noting that Zwift actually IS month to month. Very nice to use during winter, and then switch OFF when we can out again. Just dont "hybernate" .... it restarts and you only notice it if you see the charge going off your account. Pity about the exchange rate .... Zwift really is a very nice platform !!
  22. That climb after Kobus se gat .... SO EASY to THINK there is two more switch backs, and then give it your all .... come around the corner and your see a decent section of climb left .... go around that corner and your mood drops when you see yet another climb section .... TEMPER your effort up that climb ! That long steep downhill towards Prince Albert ... make sure your brake discs have ample life in it .... not the place to overheat worn discs .... ENJOY !!
  23. I have the 3-pin version of this - https://sonoffafrica.co.za/product/sonoff-s60-smart-plug/?srsltid=AfmBOopSa_9VcoaxMLIXy1Sf1DxjD-gRn-JkLgTPsi7E_dHQWaf_Al_F They have a WIDE range of goods .... welcome to one deeeeep rabit hole EDIT - I see Communica also stock some of their range. I have a couple of these. One is used for the ebike batteries .... I can set it up to charge during sun-times, maximising solar. Also I can set a timer to only charge it to about 70%, to optimise the battery life, then a top-up charge the night before a ride. Similarly, one on the pool pump allows me to control it remotely depending on weather and solar .....
  24. I use a SONOF wifi plug for the fan. Perfect for the warmup, then easy to switch on the fan when you want it.
  25. Is it still as resource heavy ?
