  7. Hey Try Boy I just recently acquired the cheaper version Gary Fisher X-Caliber, and have been so impressed with it. That i am now going to sell both my Ellsworth Moment & Giant Anthem 26'. To get a Niner RIP. At 6'3' its the first time i have ever been on a bike that i didnt feel to big for. As some folk have mentioned i havent felt any adverse effect in the technical sections, and on the climbs if ou can maintain decent momentum its really not that bad. If your not sure organise a test ride, at your size gaurantee your hooked. Good luck D
  8. Hey Ewep Nice ride buddy, now all you need is a Pinarrelo sticker to cover that Graffiti, and it' will be extra fast. Enjoy & many happy chamois hours. D

  12. Hey there, from my experience i generaly agree rather just clean, or replace if cables get sticky. Another little trick i have used over the years when i have the patients, is melt a little candle wax on the inner cable before sliding it into the housing. Its dry so does not attract dirt and seems to last awhile, its a similar concept to the teflon inner housings on some of the higher end cables. Enjoy D
  13. sounds like that garment fat girls wear. D
  14. I think i feel an anxiety attack coming on, yes dear of course i'll wash the dishes and cook. No i dont mind if you beat me D
  15. mINT sAUCE Thats just wrong on too many levels, think they have some "curve" issue's. D
  16. PedAL Menace If memory serves me according to legislation he can also hold the Director of the company liable for the actions of his employee's, and accordingly get compensation for his loss. Due to a company vehicle & employee having caused this loss / damage. Best of luck. D
  17. Good on you Wolverine, glad to hear a happy ending that for a change the good guys win. D
  18. The results are on morningsidecycles.co.za. Enjoy. D
  19. Kirk @ MSC said it would be on myrace.co.za in the next day or two. D
  20. Would love to have pre entered, but unfortunately work commitments meant i only managed at the last minute. To be available to ride. I can handle most of the issues that surround an event of this magnitude, even the chaos experienced on the frist lap. I just have a problem with the cheap ass key ring, instead of a medal. But thats just me. D
  21. Maybe its just me. But somewhat dissapointed in the MSC Spring Classic Mtb race at Northern farms today. Race start was a joke, nobody could really hear whom was supposed to go when. Then after the race, instead of a Medal you get insulted with a plastic key ring, instead of a medal. And just to add the final insult, R10 for a coke afterwards. So lets recap on the value obtained for my R150 late entry fee. Got a waterbottle, a late start because hardly anyone could hear the Commentator. One energy sachet & a cup of powerade on the last lap. A Plastic key ring & 2 cups of powerade at the finish. This really does not constitute value for money any more, for R10 you can go and ride at Northern farms with friends all day, and treat yourself with the remainder R140. D
  22. I personaly applaud her for taking her stance and making this public. - It creates awareness, of not only the flawed system (CSA), but also the injustice taking place. - I think it's deplorable when a National champion is left out of a squad, it's irrelevant whether the Worlds course would suite her or not. - She started preparation for this ages ago, and for what. To be shafted. - If CSA dont respond to this, it just goes to show there are deeper political agendas in play. Good luck & prosperity to Ronel. D
  23. Sammajoor Could be a few reasons for that.. You dont have a wife / girlfriend, a job, any friends, any ambition, or a life, D
  24. Mrmed I think your in for a surprise if you think that your going to do it for R13 500 by the time youve finished months of preperation and the event. Its like all things in life, what ever tickles your fancy. The organisers have done a wonderfull job of getting SA on the global Mountain bike market. Though personally i dont like the fact that you have to enter a lottery to compete in an event, and for that reason i dont enter any events where you have to put your name down in the hope that you get chosen. It should rather have seeding or qualification criteria, making it that qualifying was by results / performance rather than luck. D
  25. Hey Deamon This winter i have been trying a number of tyre set ups, and can give you some first hand feedback. The Schwalbe Smart Sam rolls really well, and works nicely as a rear tyre, but is not that grippy on the front for aggresive riding. Also you wont find a 2.25 localy. I found a set up from Schwalbe called something like the Trans Alp set up, quite expensive comes in a blue carry bag with 2 spare tubes, tyre levers, rim tape and a 2.25 Smart sam for the rear & 2.25 Albert for the front. (If i recall it goes for something like (R900). For all round well rolling set up that can still be ridden aggressively, this has to be one of the nicest set ups ive had. The Albert on the front is just awesome. On one of my bikes at the moment im running the smart sam on the rear & racing ralph on the front, both 2.1, and this is a perfect set up for racing. On my all mountain bike i am currently running the Kenda Nevegal small block 8. After having tried the Nevegals, was a little dissappointed, for general trail riding dont roll we'll and the front can be a little sketchy. The small block set up rolls really we'll for a 2.35 tyre, and looking forward to now trying it on the front as well this weekend. But in all ive ridden Schwalbe's for the last year with no problems.
