I made my own racks for keeping my bikes out the way. It is cheap and works very well if you have wall space. I'll put up a pic or two if you like. All the bike weight sits on its own wheels so no scratching or damage to the bike.

e.g. CUBE ACID 2011 CRC: R10 800. Local : R 10 499. CUBE STEREO RACE 2011 CRC: R36 000. Local : R 34 999. CUBE XMS 2011 CRC: R16 300 Local : R 15 999. And I am sure your LBS will be willing to give a discount if you ask nicely which you won't get from CRC. And don't forget the setup, free service that usually comes with the LBS.

Ashchest It is cheaper to buy CUBE's locally. And there are agents in the country that you want to import from too.

Hi SFDT The bikes I have looked at are much cheaper here than from CRC. If you or anyone else wants me to run through the costs contact me and i will show you why local is better.

Boxaboy.. I know you looking at the AMS Comp 2010 and I see CRC has a huge discount. R10k plus R1.5k transport + 15% import duty + 14% VAT Then remember if you take it to bike shop to get it assembled properly - R300 Then if baught locally you usually get a free bike setup - R500. Then throw in 1 or 2 free services - R800 Also your warrenty from CRC will be in the UK and not SA for the frame and all components. Example : XMS 2011 CRC = R 11450 therefore your landed cost will be R 16 300. That excludeds all the extras above. Locally the bike is selling for R15 999. Take all the extras into account and you will see bying an XMS locally will save you at least R1k and still have peace of mind and you will have supported the local industry.

The design of the back absorbs vertical shocks but not horizontal. Its like having a small shock at the back.

Hi Just been reading the posts above and have a few points of my own. 1) CUBE is cheaper localy than if you buy it on CRC. 2) There is a reason why CUBE won Eurobike best Hardtail and best Full Sus design awards this year. 3) Every CUBE bike is fully assembled and tested in Germany so dont expect any issues.
