  1. Hi David, Thanks for the great tool! Been using it to manage load for a few weeks, and it's been great. Yesterday I started a ride with a power meter on the bike, but switched to another bike after about 10 minutes. The workout picks up that there was a power meter at the start and thus doesn't calculate TSS based on HR for the ride. Is there a way that I can delete the power data from this ride, or select that it uses hrTSS like one can do on TrainingPeaks? Cheers!
  2. Or on a weekend?
  3. Well, I didn't end up finding out. I had 2 bags in my car which was broken into and stolen, so I guess salvaged nonetheless? I do see however that PPA are collecting, below snippet from their latest newsletter CALL FOR UNWANTED CLOTHING AND SHOES If you have unwanted items of clothing and shoes (not cycling gear) at home, please drop it off at the PPA office, as we would like to hand it to the McGregor community. We are thanking you for your generosity in advance.
  4. Anybody have a timing chart they willing to share (which would include variations in average speed for hills etc.)? Looking to come in comfortably under 6.
  5. Yeah there no real bunches to speak of behind %, looking at the times on racetec. I was one of those 5 with you in batch CL - tall guy in the red duvel top, really struggled to get anyone to help do the work. Last 15km was kaak. Every group we past, it looked so tempting to just go hide away for a bit haha. Eventually 3 of us finished together. Time to get my seeding sorted out...
  6. Do the corporate entries have any difference besides the price?
  7. Thanks, will try this evening again then.
  8. Managed to get a corporate entry. After payment, it tells me my team is closed, and I can't add members. Is this normal? Will it open again once all entries are sold?
  9. First your epic, now you?
  10. Question to the regulars, what is the entry process? I vaguely remember 1 person creating a team, then each individual logging on and joining that team. Does each team member need a profile on the entry site prior to the "captain" creating a team?
  11. Yoh what a ride, definitely a feather in the cap with this one! Rode with 4 other mates - all solo's doing the Full - the guys with the small boom box in the back pocket. Hats off to anyone who rides this race alone, I don't think I would have made it through without the support of my "team". We all had our dark moments at different stages and all managed to pull through. Made it in just before the second sunset! My training for this wouldn't be what you would call orthodox. I committed to joining beginning of March, Argus being my first 100km+ ride in over a year, and only managing 4 other 100-110km rides after that. 3-4 power based training sessions a week really saved me! IF there is a next, I'll certainly be aiming for better conditioning.
  12. We have a group of around 6 aiming for similar timing, so we might have ourselves a small pelaton!
  13. Apologies if this has been asked already, but aside from parts etc. is there a means of passing on used cycling kit? I have a bunch, some hardly used, and would be a shame to throw away. I believe there is a spot near northern farms, but anything cape town based?

    jock comms

As a race which is supposedly fairly high profile, you'd expect much better comms. It's a great race, but the increase in price and decrease in organization won't do them any favours.
  15. I can give you my garmin activity (TCX/GPX) from last year? PM me your email address and I'll send you the file.
  16. Nope...nice big cup of irony right there
  17. Thanks MTB_Roadie, Details as follows : Edge 510 Device ID: 3863423586 Forerunner 110 Device ID: 3857662567
  18. Unfortunately not. Will they be on/inside the boxes?
  19. So my flat got broken into on friday... Cycling related items stolen were (luckily not my actual bikes): Garmin Edge 510, Garmin Forerunner 110, Rudy Project glasses Not much faith in getting these back, but if anyone see's these items being sold anywhere, please let me know, and at least be weary that the seller could be dodgy.
  20. First one done! Phew.... Really loved this ride, and I think I'll be back for more next year! Lowlight would be taking so long, ~20:30, and falling over in the one river Highlight was getting our whole team across the line I used sealskinz, had 2 pairs, and I will not be using them again. The were fine for the crossings where we were ankle deep, or the crossings where you could ride through, but anything more and they were a nightmare, water going inside the sock, and staying there for hours. Would rather have just had normal socks and suffered with a bit of cold for a while after the crossings while they dried. I really wasn't expecting that many river crossings, or should I say that many deep river crossings, will have to think of something for next year. Maybe waterproof stockings???? Although I think the likely solution is a warm cup of HTFU...
  21. Yes a bit of the way down the jeep track next to the fence, there is a red arrow to turn right going onto some single track, you then cycle around the pond, then across small bridges, then up some single track, then to this section section I speak of. I suppose you can't refer to most of it as technical , it's just the last 2 exits from the ditch which get me. Am I a noob for even referring to this as technical?
  22. Thanks, we were actually discussing this last night, and how we were going to approach the river crossings. Are any of the crossings high enough to get our chamois's wet?
  23. Did the route again this sunday, and still I'm unable to complete that technical section without uncleating I get through most of it no problem, but the last 2 'exits' are just hectic. The second last one is really steep, and I actually came off trying to carry enough speed to get me up, gonna be a while before I stop running out of skill there. The final exit is a bit easier, and I'll hopefully be able to handle that one next time. I really enjoy that long single track downhill after that, can pick up quite a bit of speed there
  24. Well I'm taking 2 pairs of sealskinz with, and I think I will take an extra 2 pairs of regular socks. If the river crossings are knee high, I don't see any socks preventing us from getting wet.
  25. I think they sell a multiple entry ticket now? Not much of a saving though to be honest, only like R10 off what it would cost to buy all the tickets separately. It's only the convenience of it which would be worth it.
