Have had a really good streaming experience thus far with the app. Baffles me that a relatively new comer to the world of live sports streaming can produce a user experience far superior to that of DSTV, who have been doing so (trying) for years. During Strade Bianche I only experienced one interruption, which was actually mentioned by the commentators, and thus was a feed issue and not an app issue. DSTV streams often drop and then when relaunching, usually end up a few minutes delayed from the actual live feed.
  2. I see that the Strava connection was disconnected, reconnected now and it's pulling in the old data. Thanks.
  3. Hi David, Thanks again for a great tool! I recently updated my account to have a username and password (instead of the previous auto login from Strava). It still imports data from strava, but all my history is now gone?
  4. You will also save some time on the long downhill after that if you descend in daylight, can be quite daunting with just a light in darkness, complete different experience during the day.
  5. Anybody else doing UTCT? I'm also in for the little 25km.
  6. Is it confirmed that TOGH is no longer? And this is the new pre CTCT tour?
  7. I use a Cateye volt, and purchased something similar to this item which works great: https://www.amazon.com/Best-Tek-Headlight-Computer-Rechargeable/dp/B07KMQX5PN
  8. Seeing as there are a few ultra athletes on here. I'd like to get some thoughts and tricks on what you guys use for nutrition on the trails, specifically with reuse in mind, i.e. no plastic wrappers and such. I've experimented with some rice cakes before, and that will continue to be my go to for longer runs. I am keen to try some mash potato recipes, but the challenge with this is that it may not pack too easily into a foil wrap. I see lots of peeps use ziplocks and just bite off a corner and off they go, but that doesn't fit with the reuse plan. I have seen some reusable food pouches for baby food, which seem to be what I'm looking for, but they are all a bit too small (intended for baby's of course), but can't seem to find any of these which would carry enough. My next thought is perhaps buying another soft flask (the salomon one with bigger opening), and using that (exclusively for food), but that would come with some admin to fill as well as clean. Any thoughts or ideas?
  9. I ran in the TSSL Paul Cluver race on Sunday, where they had staggered starts throughout the day, from 6am to 12pm. You choose a 1 hour slot to arrive in before the race, then after arriving and having your temperature taken, you start the race at the next 15 minute start time. This seemed to work pretty well and I quite preferred it, very little traffic on the course, no queues for coffee or toilets at the start/finish. I would imagine your race would follow a similar setup.
  10. Great response and I really appreciate the insights, it helps a lot. The job is with one of the big 4, and I have a figure in mind which I believe is fair, although well below the 1.5X amount. I think I will stick with that, however see if I can get commitment for a review 3-6 months after arrival.
  11. Thanks for all the responses! My question is really geared towards what I should be asking for as a salary for a like for like switch between the 2 countries, trying to equip myself to ensure I don't sell myself short. Although I would take a cut (relative) if it meant I could secure the move sooner rather than later. I am a senior in the IT systems engineering space, and my current expectation was an increase of 20%, but based on above perhaps it should be more. I understand that there are many factors to consider, however at the end of the day my motivation for the question was to set myself a target for negotiations.
  12. While we're doing some comparisons between income and spending between SA and NZ, how would you guys see salaries compared like for like between the country's. I saw above mention of R750k would roughly translate to R1.2M ($110k) in NZ. Not sure if this was just used for the purposes of the example, but what are your guys thoughts on this? I'm sure it would differ from industry to industry.
  13. I find it a bit of a pain really, normally I just screenshot my phone and then crop out the "borders" so that only the image remains. Only other way I am aware of is to share the actual instagram post as a link.
  14. Nino apparently took a big fall on the tar which the camera's didn't seem to catch, at least I haven't seen any footage. Struggled to find his rhythm after that. Hopefully he finds his legs for the XCO.
  15. Reyes just didn't seem to get going, very disappointing after such a promising rise and super close fight with Jones. I'm not all that stoked about what the LHW division has to offer since Jones is going to HW. I suspect we will see the belt change owners relatively frequently in the next few years. Adesanya/Costa went more or less how I expected, but I did expect Costa to be a bit more aggressive. Easy to say from the sidelines though, when someone as skilled as Adesanya can slip the big punches with relative ease. Costa was visibly frustrated with his inability to touch him, and he goes home humbled.

  17. I was also audited and received the same message as LWB. I didn't do any phoning or following up and was refunded 3 days after receiving the finalization letter. My whole process took just over a month with all the back and forth. I only ever took 1 day max to respond with documents to any correspondence from SARS, all the waiting was for them to evaluate. Fairly happy with the process if I'm honest. They were clear about what information they needed, and the turnaround time wasn't too bad all things considered.
  18. Thanks. The migration agent I am using is quite proactive with their updates via very candid blog posts. https://www.immagine-immigration.com/immigration-blog/post/reading-between-lines/ This is the latest one, seems there is quite a bit of pressure on government to start opening the borders for immigration to assist in the economic recovery.
  19. Not much working at the moment. There have been a select few immigration's allowed, for certain job classes, but as a whole, there is more of a focus on extending existing visa's which have been affected by the borders being closed as opposed to granting new ones. However the government has not provided any real clear indication of their actionable intentions. I had a job offer lined up which is now on ice waiting for the border situation to ease up. Hopefully it's still there once we return to some sort of normality.

    Aha that makes more sense.

Isn't Quartararo taking his place at Yamaha? Not sure how Dovi would fit in there with Vinales also on a 2 year deal.
  22. I've done about 200km on my Peregrine's and they are also wearing through on the upper mesh already, hoping they hold out to at least 600. Fantastic shoe otherwise.
  23. Hi All, Seeing a lot of mention of some shoes being good up to a certain distance. I currently run with Saucony Kinvaro's and love them, will stick to the same brand+model once they are spent. I don't often run more than 20-30km but may look at increasing that in the next few months. What would be the limitations on my choice of shoe for this, what would I look for in a shoe for longer distances? Or is this a personal thing as mentioned like choice of saddle?
  24. If any of you guys are looking to try a conversion, I have a kit for sale. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/complete-groupsets/417774/gusset-single-speed-conversion-kit-shimano-hub I had previously used this on an old CAAD 3 conversion, but have since put the gears back on as my normal road bike was out of commission for a while.
  25. Been lurking on this thread for a while now, as my fiance and I have been looking at making the move ourselves. In a tricky situation now with a "shoe in" job offer waiting, but can't be done due to the borders being shut. Still have my job and life continuing this side, so very fortunately in that regard. I've pretty much accepted the fact that the move is unlikely to happen this year. On another note, really appreciating the political talk going on, especially the opposing views. I have firmly been in the "outsiders" camp when considering the NZ government, and what I mean by that is the non-NZ view and how highly regarded they are internationally. Certainly the PR machine working very well, but as mentioned somewhere earlier in the thread, different league to what we deal with here in SA. Hopefully soon I'll have my own vote to consider in NZ!
