Event Name: Stutterheim High School MTB & Trail RunWhen: 07/05/2022Where: , Stutterheim, Stutterheim, Eastern CapeCategory: Mountain BikeThe SHS MTB race offers riders and runners the unique opportunity to go and explore the Kologha Forest and Amatola Mountain range just outside of town. The routes have had a face-lift and this is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to conquer the Amatola Mountains. Starting from the school, riders get to choose between 3 different routes. The die-hards get to do a scenic 45 km route, with a hill or three to warm up the legs. Support will be out on route, for those who might find the hills a bit long. The less adventurous get to do a 30 km ride, less scenic, but still absolutely worth it. Those looking for a Saturday ride outdoors will be well looked after and have the option of doing a 15 km ride. For those who do not fancy a cycle, we'll have two run routes available. For the fitter runners among us, there'll be a 15 km trail run. For those of us who just want to be outdoors, there'll be a 5 km fun-run/walk, which promises to offer plenty of "gees!" Afterwards there will be plenty of stalls, where riders, runners and spectators can relax, re-fuel and share their battle tales before making their way back home. PLEASE SCAN THE QR CODE FOR ENTRIES. It can be unlocked, after a 1000 e-mails between you and Apple support. But they want proof of purchase with the IMEI of the phone displayed on said proof of purchase. I had to unlock an old iPhone of mine as I had forgotten the passcode. It took close to 3 weeks. So yes, you’re stuffed if you’re not the original owner. I almost can’t believe that there’s a market for these, unless it’s being bought for spare parts.

Start with the short route and build up your confidence. My first ever race was a 100 km, after training for only a week. Bit daft, I know. ???? That almost put me off cycling permanently..

I read somewhere that Patrick Lefevere wants the team to target one GT someday, and try and win GC. Apparently that’s why they signed Evenepoel and he’s being developed to do just that..

I wouldn’t do Gysmanshoek on a gravel bike though. The climb up to the top from the Barrydale side is pretty washed out. Same goes for the jeep track going down on the other side. I’m hearing a rumour that someone had a bad fall there this weekend. Hoping it’s only a rumour though!
