  1. The Munga finish line straight to Doolhof. I'd seriously be deflated if I just covered 1100km and have to deal with these 5km of corrugations to get to the finish line. Just a little reminder that these Munga okes are mentally in a different class.
  2. How's the gravel road between Loxton and Bft West now? Last time I was there was in 2017 and it was heavily corrugated and sharp rocks in the road. Saw four SUVs/bakkies stationary on that small section of gravel busy fitting spare wheels.
  3. Yes, doesn't matter if you are transferring from The Race or The Repeat, you can transfer to any of the other events. You can transfer to the 2021 Repeat event from next week Monday, but for now just to the Race weekend. If you want to transfer to a 2022/2023 event, then you have to send them a mail to reserve your spot.
  4. Haha you are already fifth in line! We are keeping it three for now.. easier to manage mechanicals and bonking of three bikes and three bodies instead of four.
  5. No, I didn't. I emailed them now and they said that it was mailed to us last week. I definitely didn't receive that mail, also not in my spam or gmail social/promotions folders. Anyways, got the coupon code now and transferred our team of 4 to the 14 August 2021 Race weekend. One of our team members said he's done with this latest R600 transfer fee, he can't keep up with the costs just piling on and still there is no certainty if the August event will even happen. So now we down to a 3 man team.
  6. Thanks! I think you can expect to pay around R7000 for the frame and fork. He takes everything apart and reassembles it..even replaced a few frame pivot bearings for me. It took him 22 calendar days (including drop-off and pick-up dates).
  7. Misty Paarl Mountain this morning
  8. Some of those Spaniards rented my house on Kanoneiland.. They pay a pretty penny, but have ZERO respect for your property! Currently a South African that does contract work at Khi that is renting my house there. Not sure exactly what contract work he does though.
  9. I wonder who got the contract to keep those mirrors clean...
  10. Yeah, they also have a massive parking lot at the oval track where they park the cars for weeks to see how the paint and interior hold up in the sun/heat. Thanks for the nostalgia guys! Now I miss that part of the world. Here's the oval track (If I remember correctly it's almost 15km..more or less 3x the distance of an average F1 track's length): (-29.068783, 19.847303)
  11. Diemersfontein Wine & Country Estate just outside Wellington. Quite a fair bit lower than Pearl Valley, Val de Vie etc from Paarl, but around Wellington it is in the upper margins.. Not complaining though!! Definitely worth it for the working farm lifestyle with 24/7 Thornburn on-site Security, electrical fencing/cameras etc..
  12. My experience with them: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/179736-cannondale-warranty-issue-i-need-advice/page-1 Haha, feels like ages and four bikes(bought at other store obviously) ago!
  13. This view kinda justifies the R2500 levies
  14. The Samsung S Health app works simple and good enough for me to track calories. I think on intervals.icu you can plan your future workouts and estimate the training load to see the future effect on your fitness if you keep to your training plans? Come in David Tinker?!
  15. On your left is Piet Rooi se Berg if I'm not mistaken. You'll start seeing the 205m high Khi Solar 1 tower in the distance soon just after that..
  16. MTB spin with the roadies.. Wellington -> Paarl -> Hermon and back
  17. I obviously had a good ride this morning if I butt dialed the hub during it haha[emoji2357]. No pics, but was a rainy 110km Boland base loop over Helshoogte..
  18. Haha nice.. my grandpa was a teacher in Van Wyksvlei in the 1930/40s. I drove through there two years ago, that place looks like it stands still in time
  19. Yep, I did this loop on the MTB. I love those roads!
  20. Haha yes! Thought the same thing this morning while rolling the rock out of the road!
  21. Exactly, "Not all those that wander are lost" - J.R.R. Tolkien
  22. Bainskoof closed for traffic, open for cyclists = HEAVEN!!
  23. That pinotage ain't half bad! It's actually one of my favourite wines at the moment. The 15% Home Owners discount on the wines also don't hurt hehe..the more you drink, the more you save!
  24. Where did you get that info?? I haven't received an email yet. Checked my spam as well. They shouldn't have called it an entry transfer then.. It's more like, "We are cancelling the event and you don't get any refund, but here is an opportunity for you to buy an entry for a next race at 50% discount".
