  3. ... go big or go home!!! http://www.velonation.com/Ride-Maps/Ride-Map-Viewer.aspx?N=Mega%20hills%20from%20Westlake&RouteId=71
  4. Simple question; do you get more after-market bling for road or MTB...... nuf said
  5. Steri-Stumpie - chocolate, there's nothing better bang for your buck!!
  6. Its not freaking rocket science people, but unlike the UK we'll have to have some form of Safferised system along the lines of: Racing licensed riders are graded Elite, 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4thNon racing licensed riders are graded A-Z To ride with the manne, you have to hold a racing license of the correct grade Each race is graded according to an index and points are awarded to finishing positions for instance, races over 100km will have points down to 20th or so, and everything else above and below. Racing licensed groups are split depending on the level of race (for national events only say Elites and 1sts may ride together, then 2nds & 3rds with 4ths being the entry level for licensed riders.Riders must accumulate points throughout the year to either move up or maintain their current grade, 4th being the lowest for instance. Non racing riders can be graded A-Z as per the current winners times based systems of CL or PPA.To ride national championship events you have to hold a racing license. All licenses grant you access to enter any event (i.e. road, MTB, track, BMX)The above could be a start and from my experience riding in blighty along with the SA Sportif (aka funride) culture, a compromise can easily be worked out. 7. Looks like our relatives up in Blighty are taking some of our innovations down here in the Western Cape seriously. http://www.cyclingrevolution.com/content/en/championship_teams.aspx The team concept is great and has been a huge success this "winter" league. The upcoming summer league is looking to improve on a winning formula and with the inclusion of LBS teams, the rivalry with be outstanding. Stay tuned for more details and remember, if you haven't tried it before we even made a special league with it's own sets of races and teams just for you, the Hubbers
  8. Lucky for you NiteRider took your place last night, did a stellar job ta-boot.
  9. Classy photos dude, Ronelle would be proud!! Thanks WH, great to be back feeling the pain Not 100% yet but I'll get there.
  10. You're forgiven this time Ronelle, but only cause you have two more chances this week to snap my new shades
  11. Most disappointing Ronelle, not one pic
  12. I heard a rumour that Kernel already has his ticket to ride with LA, nice one dude
  13. Sweet bike, but what Mampara said wrt the wheels.....
  14. Today I learnt that no matter how frustrating recovery after a fall is, it can't and shouldn't be rushed. Also, after marked improvements in the above recovery you should stop and take stock of how fantastic this is as sport on a bright and sunny spring evening.
  15. Eish, one of our DC ringers bites the dust.... Hope they all recover quickly, time off the bike really sux which I can corroborate. This is these riders livelihood, I'd be mega miffed if my Pinnerello got mullered.
  16. Took a tumble at the track league 6 weeks ago, fractured pelvis and torn/sprained muscles.
  17. Hi All, By no means fully recovered but my personal goal to ride into work is accomplished so well on the way. Still bummed at the team flying out to Aus this week, but there's always Manchester 2010. Thanks for all the wishes and emails of encouragement, it's been emotional See you on the road/track. SL
  18. You guys are all so mean......... my Giant is also Special
  19. Hell, we could be onto something here ..... what about running a "competition" to design the new SA cycling kit The UK design with the image of the Union Jack draped across the kit would look awesome with our Fred Brownell designed flag......
  20. A new design was on the cards, but got shot down because of the increased cost to CSA. The nasty big 5 design is a poor reflection on our flag and the possibilities for designs. I'm in the process of having some designs done by a prof designer and then I'll approach the powers that be and see if we can make a plan.
  21. With my man Daneel on your wheel, I was with you all in spirit........ oh and I kicked your asses in the sprint of course
