  2. They're NOT cycle lanes, they're RTS (Rapid Transport System) IRT (Integrated Rapid Transport) lanes ahead of 2010. Now we'll have a clear view of the taxi's disappearing up the road as the mow us down.ShortLegs2009-04-21 06:46:35
  3. Or he could just eat a couple less pies, seems like Sheldon and GO2.0 could start a trackieFatFighters up norf, bit like Marjorie Dawes and Fatfighters from Little Britain. But giving credit where it's due; Sheldon does loads for GN track, I'll bet CGC wish they knew his magic formula
  4. That would be the rather portly Mr Sheldon Bole from GN. He walked away with the 3000m pursuit title (respect), imagine what he would do if he weighed 10kg less
  5. Loads, I ride a San Marco Regal and while I'm not the heaviest rider about is got loads of padding and plenty wide enough. There's a couple of Specialized saddles about built for extra comfort and some roadies (as seen on Paris Roubaix) use Fizik MTB saddles for the extra comfort.
  6. smitvanzyl, good to meet you dude.
  7. Oom Chrispy handed me a large jersey on the podium that literally went down to my knees. After the podium ceremony I went back and swapped it for a small.....
  8. Vulgar promised me a massage, had good motivation
  9. Thanks OT, the jersey kinda gives it away What a wicked days racing, some really titanic clashes, the U16, Juniors and elite elimination were outstanding. Mike Thompson is a legend ShortLegs2009-04-10 00:39:20
  10. That's cool, just send the Mrs..... and tell her Dean Edwards will be there in ALL his glory Good luck for the nats btw
  11. I think I'm gonna puke Please refrain from defiling perfection Jase
  12. Still waiting for your ugly mug and your better halfs non-ugly mug to show yourselves from the last track meet dude .
  13. Try not wrapping the bar-tape under the hoods too much and ensure that the hoods are seated properly without any protrusions. I too find that the reach is slightly more than my previous Dura Ace because of the flatter profile of the SRAM's. I've got Ritchey WCS bars and the transitions is just about perfect.
  14. More than enuf time for you lot to put all the miles in you can AND ride/drive up to Bellville to watch some wicked track racing Go on, you know it makes sense
  15. I'm in the same boat as you, paid for my license on the 5/12/2008, received confirmation from MyRace on the 22/1/2009 and to date my club has not received my card. Seems like I've dropped off the radar so with Track champs this weekend, all I can do is hope that the CSA officials have the form stating I have licensed.
  16. GO's a big softy and I know him better than most.
  17. He's difficult to miss, just look for the git blocking out the sun and the timekeepers....
  18. Oops wrong topic. I've been commuting give or take for 4 years now including 3 of those (2 winters) on London.ShortLegs2009-04-03 07:40:08
  19. All SRAM Red on the race bike, Shimano on the commute bike.
  20. Didn't realise that carrying a spare tube or two was now customary up in gunteng hey Si
  21. or you could try http://www.veloriders.co.uk
  22. I would class Alex Thompson as a Master Wheel Builder par excellence!! The ol-one-eyed-sweaty-sock is second to none in that department, to get hold of him contact Gary/Malcolm/Mike at CYCLES direct on 021 554 2128. Or pm me your cell and I'll ask him to call you.ShortLegs2009-04-01 07:10:17
  23. Rollerz rulz Great for keeping you focused while trying to go flat out. As mentioned it will improve your pedalling efficiency and style and is an alternative to the IDT. Like any kind of riding indoors, it's best to put a fan in front on low to get some cooling. Rollers are best done on a track bike fyi!!! Bunny hoping off is possible provided you're not going too fast and you manage to pedal forward to get some momentum to keep your balance on hitting the ground. As is riding without hands but this isn't recommended for n00bs . Always good to put some form of mat underneath to catch any sweat and also to save the carpet/wooden floor from unsightly tyre marks which the wife doesn't appreciate much even when trying to explain the reasons for falling off doing 70kph
