  7. It's not even like she's buggered and can't carry on without his pocket, this is from the prologue http://www.cyclingnews.com/mtbphotos.php?id=/photos/2009/mar09/capeepic09/capeepic091/Epic_09_Prologue_KS_004
  8. Ok, so I'm as enthralled as the next hubber with all the epic riders and have a number of mates riding. What I'm having a problem understanding is in regard to the mixed category. Now I'm not doubting Nico's and Alison's fitness but why the hang in just about every tv shot of the pair is Alison hanging off the back of Nico's jersey I can understand if Nico was pushing her up all the hills but the continued hanging on must leave her arms dragging on the ground after 6 days of this In the spirit of the category as I see it, it's doesn't come down to the strongest pairing, but more to the chick with the strongest grip who can hang onto her partner the longest. Don't flame me all you MTB'ers, I'm just a dof a roadie/trackie after all asking for a little insight so I can appreciate the event some more ShortLegs2009-03-27 05:43:02
  9. They will start riding on Thurday's to begin with. No need to join just now and they're a friendly bunch with possible the exception of Mr Posh (mike) although he can't ride a bike much. I heard Mike played for Liverpool once apon a time ......
  10. ..... or contact Malcolm at CYCLES direct on 021 554 2128 and arrange to meet him for a group ride in the afternoon/evening, much safer option!!

  14. And for cutting a carbon seat-post?
  15. As a certified Giant addict but recently converted on the road to Specialized I would say they are of similar overall quality. Comparing the TCR Advanced ISP and Tarmac SL2 both are fairly light and stiff. The ISP is definitely less comfy around posterior and absorbs road vibrations less well than the SL2. Both are zippy out of the saddle and in the drops and feel responsive sprinting in close quarters and maneuvering in windy conditions around Killarney. Handling and descending is impeccable in both but I find the SL2 to be a little more confident and less twitchy than the ISP. Build quality on both is exceptional and as reported, there exists a chance to get a dud frame from either manufacturer but I don't think more likely from one to the other. Personally I would rate the SL2 ever so slightly above the Giant, but it's a marginal thing. Both are good and for your needs will more than tick all the right boxes. Go with your gut, pocket and eye. Never and easy choice but either way you'll be happy in the end and should have endless miles of enjoyment. Good luck
