  1. Ironman SA 2020 Edition (November) is not happening. Log those long runs and rides boys and girls.
  2. LMFAO.... I can hear Snowball doing his crazy cry right now... Nooooooo TD gone too soon, You're in a better place now TD...aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  3. I bought a trailer two years ago, best move I could make. Must have papers and license up to date, so many advertised without licenses. I service the bearings once a year, also before I use it I always check the tire pressure. I'm having a heavy duty canvas cover made as I go through about 2 covers a year. Do lock it up when you are parked. I fitted a holdfast top runner on the top, I have a Fibreglass Eagle 6ft but not sure of the weight of 4 bikes so I put big bikes on the car (another old school Holdfast rack the one with the bracket next to the tow ball and the kids bikes go on the trailer) Insurance costs me less than R30 a month. I worked out that our last trip would have cost us about R2500. Your trailer does stand for alot of the time but for me it made more sense buying one and keeping it. You never know when you need it. In closing... There's nothing that makes me feel more like a ballie than hooking your trailer up. And yes I did ask my wife to take a video of me reversing it all the way up our driveway to send to her friend, her friend replied with one word...LEGEND. This friend a I had a good laugh as we knew the fun of using a trailer in the 80's, your toppie would need to make sure the cars lights matched the trailer lights and you having to shout what light is on and make sure it corresponds with the car lights... #goodtimes
  4. Swim training, what's that? I'm going to ask to defer my entry, not sure how successful I'll be with that but I'd like to whole painful exprerience, a run bike run isn't the same as putting your wetsuit on, being nervous as hell, peeing in your wetsuit at least three times before you even take your first swim stroke. I'm running a bit not as much as I'd like to. How's everyone elses training coming along?
  5. I was there too on Sunday, our Ridgeback recently got his shots which means we can take him out now. One happy Husky and one super happy Ridgeback!
  6. I'm not a fan of cats. They strike me a shifty no ****s given characters, the type that when things go down they'll throw you under the bus without even thinking. I like a pet that when **** goes south your pet is going to be right by your side saying I'm not speaking until my lawyer gets here.
  7. How do we even get a straight answer out of Ironman? I also can't see it happening and if it's a run-swim-run then I'd prefer racing in March 2021. So am I arranging tires then?
  8. I've never come across a lazier dog than our new Ridgeback, first week he was here I kept on making excuses for him... He's not used to us and the Husky or he's tired... Second week I've found out he's just damn lazy! My daughters get upset with the Husky when he hurts the Ridgeback when they play fight, what they don't see is when they go to bed, Mr Nightowl wakes up and terrorizes the Husky before falling asleep on him! PS I have lots of pics but for some reason the photo hosting sights aren't playing along.
  9. Is the theory behind the no swim to keep the distance from other athletes? I thought that the swim starts are now in smaller groups?
  10. @BBLBotha and Jiggs I have some tires we could burn... just saying. We can sing songs with the word Demand and 2021??
  11. Phuck that run, bike ... run more... Oops did I say that out loud?
  12. I'm personally hoping it doesn't go ahead in Nov as I could use this time to do some serious DIY on the house we recently bought. What I don't want is, to get stuck in the house and then realise that the race is going ahead and there I am trying to wing an IM. It won't end well. (I can hear the 6 funeral dancers music already)
  13. Sooooo 1 July 2020 is anyone pulling their finger out their ar*e and starting to train? Will it go ahead in November?
  14. The 6 year old showed the 9 year old how things are done. I have to stop her because she gets too involved. Anyway they both very brave and love their doggos.
  15. Give me strength! It feels like all I've done all today today was stress about work and break up fights... What were we thinking?? Having a 4 month old Husky and getting a 2 month old Ridgeback? I told the Husky that him biting the Ridge on the back was a rookie mistake, my 6 year old just burst out laughing. She has no idea what it means but it was funny hearing her repeat it back to the Husky all day yesterday. Anyway, back to tonight. This Husky is going to see his moer soon, Lion Dog's little jaws are impressive. his little guy snaps and stands his man.
  16. Those crates are awesome, I had one for two weeks with my Husky's leg break. Do you leave the door open and he's free to come and go as he pleases? I went to fetch our Ridgeback so our house is organised chaos with introducing a mild natured Ridgeback with a bossy Husky!
  17. My poor doggo has had his fair share of cones in his short life. Funnily it didn't even bother him. He was able to remove it a few times a day but I'd also take it off but make sure he never got to his bandage.
  18. Tim Don replied on the post asking if there was International entries, voitog he probably misses SA. Anyway ever cloud has a silver lining, at least it gives us more time to do stupidly long rides to condition the body. Anyone keen on a flatish ride to Port Nolloth and back?
  19. 5150 Scheduled for 21 November 2020 has been cancelled and will return on the 21 November 2021. I don't think IM SA is happening this year peeps.
  20. I wanted to race in November, I promised myself a full IM before I was 40 So delaying the race until a few months after my 40th was approved (I made an application to myself and after some consideration I approved my application) so if it doesn't happen in November I'll apply for my promise to be amended so that I complete a full IM in my 40th year of existence.
  21. Don't think it's happening but I'll be starting some training 1st May so should a decision be made then I won't be starting from slob to IM, it will be more of a semi slob to IM.
  22. I don't even feel bad for doing nothing since IM PE got postponed. I doubt it will happen in Nov but I set up my IDT so will start tomorrow and will also start running. I'll see what happens about the sea swims.
  23. Looking for some advice from the ever knowledgeable Hub folk on Pet Insurance?? And go....
