  1. You're always going to run into an Ian somewhere in life. Let Ian be Ian, guaranteed he's not going to be that mouthy with you face to face. Ian sounds like the type to when called out apologise and say it was a moment of madness or he had one or two many Castle Non Alcoholics when he decided to jump onto Social Media. Let it be, as difficult as it may be we don't achieve anything having some argy bargy with the inconsiderate road user (I'm guilty of this too but I try) ChrisF is right when saying the damn taxi's give you more sympathy when you're on the road and the rest are just for "me, myself and I" Sadly we can't even narrow it down to a certain make of car anymore cause it's a variety of folk, young, old, well off, not so well off, with kids, without kids so what do we do?? Ride and enjoy your ride, choose your routes wisely and be safe. I will never willingly give up riding and I'm very happy that my daughters enjoy a ride too. I've typed all of this cause I really can't focus on work right now 😞
  2. Ironman in April 😮 Ride and SUP more with the family. Lose weight so I can stop calling myself Vettie!
  3. Fantastic well done, it looks great. I might be borrowing your idea if you don't mind. If you do I just won't invite you into my garage 😉 I love the fact that when you say "I McGyvered it" I automatically knew what you meant! 😂
  4. Why do we need MORE private security? Can't the police do there flippen jobs? Can't the government channel more money into recruiting and training a bigger police force? South Africa needs leaders who's aren't in it for the glitz and glamour but who will actually roll up their sleeves and get involved. I'm glad these guys were caught but there's so many factors that affect this that it needs a government intervention. No jobs = crime lack of border control = bikes get through to neighbouring countries. Lack of policing and convictions = these chops will be back on the streets soon So again, glad they are caught but hope they are off the streets for a long period. FYI I saw the fuzz patrolling our area twice in to days... WTAF??
  5. Thanks for posting, this is exactly what I needed. Jumped into the pool yesterday and did a run this morning (it was probably my shittest run in YEARS) anyway watching this had me clearing my throat occasionally and wondering who the hell is chopping onions in the office. I received the updated waiver email from IM this morning. Bring on April 2022!
  6. WTAF @Oufy MTB (Roadie) when I come out of Hibernation we need to keep this in mind.
  7. Eeek.... I'm too scared to weigh myself at home. Do you have to pay to weight stuff at those truck weighbridge things? Asking for a friend....
  8. Good Luck boys and girls. I hope you have a fantastic race!!!!
  9. I commuted twice last week. I haven't ridden in months and the 2nd ride I felt it in the under carriage!!! My return to the bike is going to painful....
  10. It's definitely the towbar issue and not the rack. Those two bolts in the video look fine but no harm in checking them. Take out your boot mat and spare wheel and have a look. As Chris said you could either look for it yourself and take it back to the dealer.
  11. RIP rider and condolences to the family. Brings back memories of a few years back. All lined up for Timetrials and rider 3 went off (an old boy and his mate apparently doing this for years) as rider number 6 lines up we got word the event is called off as there's a rider down. Rider number 3 hit the back of a truck and never made it. Cycled back and while putting my bike back in the van Rider 3's wife and his mate were parked next to me, completely shocked. That was truely one of the kakkest days I've had in cycling.
  12. I can't knock Holdfast at all. Last year I needed a rubber for my roofracks and I went directly to them in Wetton and got helped immediately. I'll definitely buy another Holdfast product.
  13. Someone is going to have to please explain... But do you want their *** excuse as to why they didn't stop? You know they going to think up some *** excuse. It's like the time EVERYONE in the street stopped for me to cross the pedestrian crossing *(I was running/jogging (runners don't really like it being called jogging but that's a different conversation)), as I gave the motorists a little thanks a Mr Delivery driver and his helpful sidekick didn't stop, I nearly kakked myself but stopped in time for me not be taken out by his POS car he was driving. They stopped for a red light further down the road. I did a quick Fartlek and stopped next to them to ask WTF and why they didn't stop... his reply "because we are with speed" still not sure WTF that means but anyway I lost my *** with him, said a few things I'm not proud of I may have also hit the car window.
  14. Never met Raasbekkie but I was fortunate enough to hear him say #lekkerlekkerlekker at one of the races I did. RIP Carel, you left many people with happy memories!
  15. I've not ridden my bike in months, I think my last ride was sometime in Feb/March and I'll be lying to everyone including myself if I say I'm not scared to take to the roads again. I've been running just to keep myself mildly fit but even then you have to put up with drivers who "slow down" for stop streets, are still clueless as to what the meaning of a pedestrian crossing is and park on pavements etc I ask myself on a daily basis what pleasure a selfish person gets out of life? Is it a good feeling they get when they "give you a piece of their selfish mind" (ironic innit) but yeah I suppose these questions won't be answered. Just be lekker, is that too much to ask?

  18. Deferred to 2022, just too much going on at the moment with work and life.
  19. lol I only got the memo about the calfs socks thing earlier this year. It might have to do with the Traithlete business too, One of the gripes about cycling to work was the cycling kit at the end of the day. It didn't always dry out properly!
  20. Hi, whereabout are these Higgovale trails? Closest street name?
  21. LMAO at the Commando comment, if you've not done commando at work you're not doing it right! I agree with the wash basin comment, you feel good after a cowboy splash. I would ask the cleaner to conveniently leave the mop in the toilet area just in case you splash alot. The one place I worked at was a 16km to and 18 - 22 km commute home depending on how I rode home. The toilets had to way to lock so I took a door wedge with me to work and locked it from the inside, those ******* were consfused for months as to why at a certain time of the morning it was locked! I miss commuting, would love to do it again.
  22. Didn't one for the first guys to finish Kona also do it in a "Jean pant"
  23. WHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttttt This is just insane! But if this should happen when roughly would you think of organising this?
