  1. Ag NO! Was banking on you being the camera crew! Eishhhhh, the leg, now the shoulder! Healing vibes and extra beers!!!! Come race the 'August' and keep the fitness efforts up on the stationary bike!
  2. Man, I'm looking forward to the post race review! (Who's riding with a gopro to get some moving pics?) I admire the effort you guys are putting into this ahead of the race! Hoping you have at least 4 core chaps who know each other and already ride together like this even infrequently, as it's going to be chaos to orchestrate on the day with a massive group of strangers for at least the first 15 minutes! You'll need a strong 'ride captain' who will make the sub 3 time easily and is interested in keeping your motley crew together for as long as it keeps to your time gaps who will keep everyone interested in doing this to play their part to achieve cohesion! (and 'tjoon' those who don't!) Works like a charm when you pull it off!!!! This thread and your efforts at the 94.7 will have me following the events on the day! Best wishes for a large contingent of sub 3's and PBs!!!!
  3. Lexx , Happy Martin and co, please remember to post your ongoing review as you keep using the program!
  4. And all the new to bunch riding and MTB only chaps just went; Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot??...

....Snipped In summary Rider 46’s actions were not dangerous and did not cause the collision and subsequent fall of rider 93; therefore rider 46 did not contravene regulation 1.21.2. Rider 93 chose to willingly use and capitalise upon the actions of rider 46 in order to make rider contact yet again, whilst claiming the collision to be as a result of rider 46’s manoeuvre. Through rider 93’s own actions his bike fell; MM then immediately released a false statement of intent to fans and race officials. All manner of rumours about the sport being corrupted and controlled by sponsor, manufacturer and national interests are circulating; alienating the fans and customers of the sport. We urge you to reverse this penalty, enabling VR to take his earned grid position, and return the sense of integrity to the sport so that the championship is clean and fair. And, we ask that you further consider removing MM from the final race, under Regulation 1.21.2, to ensure a safe final race. Hehe, these guys have a solid idea about writing to CAS, but then lose the plot with their last request eishhhh. Like HRC would accept something like this happening????

VR coming from the back all the way past the Ducs? Phew you guys are optimistic! Would be awesome though!
  7. You're gonna have to look at the time splits as your guide to the pace in order to make the sub 3 time. The chaps who recover quickly will usually be the stronger riders and they should do longer turns and\or more frequent ones as tombeej suggested earlier. The whole group will need to rely on each person being honest about where they are at throughout and communicate such. If they're only just holding on, they need to say that and ride in the bubble, rather than feel compelled to do a turn in front and then die, making the whole group ride 2- 3 kays slower over the rest of the distance, if the group is prepared to wait! You should have enough guys of similar strength along with the group dynamics of 'the outsiders' on the day to have people prepared to work on the front! It's a challenge to get cohesion AND KEEP IT, but it's super sweet and the distance melts away when you do! (For this reason alone the DC is such a popular event!)
  8. You make up so much more time by riding a constant effort across the full distance of the course, than having to recover from constant efforts of surging and slowing down to match a disorganised group. IF you guys are able to get this rolling turns paceline working through the full distance of the event, you're likely to ride at least 10% better than you planned for across the whole race distance! For those of us not going up to the big smoke for the 94.7 this year, this has been a very interesting thread to follow! Hopefully a whole crew of bunch riding skills are acquired in this I-team sub 3 bus you guys are pulling together! It will take a core of at least 4 chaps who know how to ride well together already to get everyone else organised too! The easiest way to ensure the chap coming through does not feel like he needs to accelerate is if the chap at the front pulling over at the end of his turn soft peddles when he pulls over. Stronger riders often pull over, but don't ease off and keep their effort constant, forcing the paceline to accelerate to get by, which causes the breaks and surging in effort further back! Good luck to you all! EXPECT a PROPER race report in this thread after too!!!!

They bladdy well better! This circus needs a final act and if the racing doesn't pan out to be it, than the press conference might as well be!

The point that is being alluded here, is that there is racing. There's racing with rubbing even and most competitors will know when they're having a fair fight for a position and then there's riding like a tonsil to deliberately slow you up and get in the way. After 19 years of racing why would Rossi suddenly take exception to someone RACING unless they're not actually trying to do that, but rather continuously block and interfere with their riding effort. This is not their first season of riding together either, so somehow something has changed in those heightened moments when they're on the edge and around each other. Rossi is calling him out on it. It's more than just a personality clash. You keep getting stuck on whether he is allowed to to fight for position which everyone expects him to do! (Even Rossi for that matter!) But no one wants to see or hear that he is being a ponce from the most respected rider on the grid, because his riding style is not genuinely riding for the best position but rather to annoy VR...
  11. Does anyone know whether joining now will incur a new joining fee in January, or whether there is some sort of pro rata fee system for joining this late in the year, or a date that rolls the membership over into the following year? All the literature suggests it as a calender year membership only.

Where there is smoke there is fire. That's been true since man had his first feud. Why would VR make up these claims into a 10th World Title chase if he was simply feeling off the boil? He has had previous seasons where he got smoked by other riders and there's no history of this before. So why MM then? Clearly there's racing, there's rubbing and racing and then there's just being a ****. In the margins they race by they will know this and he is calling him on it. Sad to say but MM as talented as he is on a bike will pretty much remain a punk who I wont root for as a racer in future. The whole event was out of character from 19 years of watching VR race, so whilst it has soured the conclusion to this championship he has the luxury of that much history to base this isolated event on. MM, not so much and hoping for his sake he sorts his thinking out on race days, so that he plays the game and not the man in future, or his fan base will surely dwindle! Mass support does not come from poor sportsmanship!
  13. Off topic... Tokia Greenbelt is being opened to cyclists! Everyone please go and fill in the online form for council to write this in to their amendments! The more people who do it the better, to drown out the horse and dog walking folk who hate anything with a wheel and will be making their voices heard! https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/154612-tokai-greenbelt-trail-proposal/page-2 #prettyplease!!!!

World Motocross and AMA Motocross Champ. Retired from racing now and commentator on the AMA series. Long time racer for Factory Yamaha.... If you saw him race you would know how aggressive his passes were particularly on Mike Alessi in the year he won his AMA Motorcross title! I don't agree with his opinion that VR kicked MM. VR did take MM out as wide as he could in that turn though, which is also racing. In Supercross specifically it's called standing a rider up so that he can't turn in early to get his drive on for the next rhythm section (straight). Surprised GL has not seen this incident from that perspective....
  15. I don't think we could have created a more Evan-eske space for him to feel comfortable to post! Genuinely thought he would have the gutspa to post by now! It's not like this is a mystery to him! #whenwillevanposthere? #whatwouldevando? #GOODJOBSWISS!
  16. Whoa! Had to read that twice! (Also checked the date to make sure it wasn't April 1st...) Serious PROPS PPA! As a member I think this is fantastic! Good job!

Whatever the shenanigans happening in the motogp world currently I doubt there has ever been as much commentary around riders, rules and general moto banter in the history of the sport and they say there's no such thing as bad publicity! has this thread EVER moved as fast? (And no one is fighting...!)

I really enjoyed watching Freddie Spencer race! Was he not the last rider to win both 250 and 500cc class Championships in the same year?

For the first time in sports history, I'm hoping a rider bins it. (First corner could be good!) Come on JL, drop the bike, remount and be forced to dice TheDoctor. Hopefully then they'll come through the pack together and we'll get the season finale we're looking for!
