  1. Inland of Blouberg and there's the odd bit of vertical road to shake off the sucking crew....
  2. Looks like they are the 1B group. So going off after 1A but before 1C
  3. Their bicycle product range has been known as Rubena since 1929 I think. They are in the process of rebranding all their Rubena models as Mitas moving forward.
  4. Well known brand in off road and enduro motorcycle racing! That side of their product range has been making a huge impact in the South African market over the past 8 years or so already!
  5. Come on chaps. The real issue here is what was advertised, how it was delivered and most important, WHEN it was delivered. Releasing a product of this nature at the end of January means that many people have been holding off renewing subs with existing clubs and paying extra one day license entry fees for events that have opened entry during this first month, holding out to join the Vitality crew and reap the rewards and benefits they have ADVERTISED! What has been delivered now is not what was promoted and some people will be put out at having paid extra fees for events they have just registered for, and now that the advertised benefits no longer apply they've had to go and renew the subs with those existing clubs anyway!
  6. The route will be busy, which is why you should just chirp some people riding by at roughly the pace you like to ride! Stalking,,,, aahhhhh that wonderful moment when two people go for a romantic stroll along the beach but only one of them knows about it....
  7. Why not take a leap of faith and wait somewhere along the road for another cyclist or group of riders to come by and ask if you can tag along with them, so that you are not riding on your own?? I don't know of a single person I ride with that would say no.
  8. Haha, read the whole article.... Kept looking for a dodgy comment. Only when I got to the bottom did I realise you meant a comment on the article itself... Eish, it's been a long week!
  9. SUPER IMPRESSIVE FIRE!!!!! Are you going to be riding all of the big road races this year?
  10. Yep it's not very corporate and far more beach fashion! Will even look rad on a stealth enduro rig! (Have the watch, need to get the bike now!) Has the most comfortable and soft rubber strap. Watch is very light for it's size. Also, there was a 70% off Nixon deal at Watch Republic in Access Park, so it was a no brainer at 500 clips...
  11. To echo what has been said, the cycle path is fine from Tableview all the way through to Paarden Eiland. Where it turns left at Steven Johnson Cars is usually where I divert along the service road that runs along Marine Drive. I ride on this to the end of the the service road which brings you alongside a large Caltex Garage. Hop on and off the pavement and then ride in the emergency lane up onto the N1 and keep on the left of the N1 as you ride into town in Heerengracht. It's the safest route. If you're uncomfortable traversing the Woodstock offramp to stay on the N1 you can go left off with this. Cross the road when it's safe and then simply ride back down the offramp on the other side and stay in the wide verge on the left down onto the N1 for the roughly 800 metres to town. If you catch up with a group of people along the cycle lane then take that with them into town. As mentioned safety in numbers. All the attacks have been on single or double riders (mostly couples when 2 cyclists) going through on their own. Coming back you have the option of waiting for others riders cruising back with you or you need to ride through from the N1 interchange at Heerengracht if you're solo. Again the verge is very wide and you should be fine to get through to the Marine Drive offramp. It's a little tricky getting across the Woodstock offramp and where the onramp merges with the N1 and shortly after this bridge there's a 100m piece where the yellow lane is not much more than 20cms wide but traffic is really slow along here from the way the Woodstock onramp merges from a near standstill so you should be fine and then the emergency lane opens as you sweep off the highway and you head through Paarden Eiland along this, linking up with the cycle lane opposite Steven Johnson Cars again..
  12. Like many others I have not worn a watch for quite some time (at least the past 4 years since my polar HRM watch died) but I picked this up as a christmas pressie for myself the other day...
  13. Doubt Matt will give details of the below but I'm sure we can all speculate on these ourselves.. Below is my take. Happy Holidays Matt and the rest of the Hub team! Rad to see your venture grow from strength to strength!!!!
  14. Have a corner in the garage with all my kit connected to an LCD monitor with an HDMI port. Kit is being tested by some family at their place to see whether dad buys a present for his kids that he will probably end up using most.... Should have it back next week. What's your PSN nic? Have a Thursday crew who get together a couple of times a month to do some online racing! We've done both GT5 and GT6. Online options of 5 are better but single player of 6 was more enjoyable for me. Miss the course creator from 5 too.
  15. Have the exact same wheel as you do! My seat is the nitro one. You do any GT6 online efforts SK?
  16. Haha, shot at The Village... Nice review chaps!
  17. Vitality has 3 main sections that each contribute to your Vitality Total. Know your health. (These are your various health related assessments and their points) Make healthy choices. (Non smokers declaration and healthy food benefits, along with some challenges from the living vitality site, etc) Get active. (Fitness activities and assessments collated here) Each of these has various tests and questionnaires that allow you to score points but only the Get Active one has limits on how many points you can score, so that you are forced to do regular check ups and understand your health from a holistic point of view and in so doing get gold status and the increased savings.
  18. No problem Mike. Say no to your next promotion and go straight to Management today asking them to make sure one of the latest staff members is made the CEO, so that they too can get a chance! Changes things when it's your job eh....
  19. Also few people realise there's the odd couple of points available through the living vitality portal which hosts a few challenges. No, not enough to make up 70K worth but every couple of points helps along the way!
  20. Dude, get it done. You've got 6 weeks! If you let it slip I'm guessing you have to wait 3 years to get back to Diamond as it says 3 consecutive years of being gold!
  21. I use my BM GS450 on the road now mostly. Trips over 20kays are not nearly as much fun as the short commute to work through traffic! Have a second set of rims with off road setup on for when I want to hit the bush! Geared the bike longer so the motor works less when riding longer stretches. These bikes do not have the same maintenance schedule as a purpose built commuter, but you do spend far more time on the back wheel smiling your cheeks apart! If that floats your boat, it'll be worth every cent. If you're looking for a hassle free option, the thrill will die quick. Only you will know which rings true for you.
  22. Alonso is essentially a paying driver. Santander pays 50 million to have him in a car. That sponsorship follows him. I'm sure most teams would like that cash injection and the services of someone of his ability.
