  1. I'm looking for a group to do the longer training rides on a Saturday, my team is 80% in Joburg thus it is a bit difficult for me and a fellow cyclist...by voorbaat dankie.
  2. Why wouldn't you import carbon road wheels? Seems alot less riskier than a frame?
  3. I'm in for 1 date, most probably 02/03/2013.
  4. I never really thought of buying these frames, but after a bit of googling a nice 50mm carbon wheelset for R4k doesn't seem like a bad idea...
  5. I went out this morning going slowly up Polka hoping to get you guys, but you only got to Polka later...Chris snr got me going down second Polka and told me you guys are still coming. Just a bit too late for me, I will definately join you guys next week Wednesday and Thursday when I'm on leave. I was the Nedbank kitted rider returning to Kuilsriver when the group passed me this morning...
  6. That is fast, I will try and join this coming week. How long does it take you from Polka(Link road) to Pick n Pay Soneike...that will be the portion I would like to join you guys on...Also don't laugh at my 2003 classic.
  7. Looks like the wind will be behind us on the home stretch...
  8. Based on the above info you can count me in as well. Just to confirm you start at the garage bottom of Hels at 7am?
  9. I'm really tempted to add my name plus a friend...please refresh our memories on stats for the planned ride.
  10. This was going to be my first race for the season, but I'm not going to put myself through the trauma of a 50km/h headwind...
  11. Indeed that was a great link for guys doing the Polka/Kayamandi/Bottelary loop, I cut out Kayamandi and opted to go past Cloetesville thinking its safer but alas bike-jacking there as well... I'm from Kuilsriver thus my options are becoming limited...Eersteriver is out as well, thus the Somerset(R44)/Eersteriver loop is out as well...I guess all I can do now is mostly returning the same way I came or maybe repeats of safe loops...
  12. you need a L (probably 56cm)...best to do a proper bike fitment
  13. As I went towards Kanonkop I saw this lone guy cycling on his S-Works deep dish wheels towards Cloetesville, I don't think these crimes are reported or communicated or cyclists are just plain ignorant.
  14. definately the same place...not good at all!
  15. Safe routes are becoming fewer by the day...
  16. Hi Guys, Was their a bike jacking that took place Saturday morning? As I went up towards Cloetesville I saw a guy walking down fully kitted in cycling clothes and shoes on his cell phone. When I got to the top by Cloetesville I saw a gathering of locals... Just asking because I use this road instead of passing Kayamandi on my own, I always thought Cloetesville was a safer option. Thanks for any feedabck
  17. Anyone in the Kuilsriver area doing midweek 5:30am-6:30am rides? Will start 5am in the next month or so... Just starting my training so easy riding for the next month only.
  18. I just tell her that all my friends are doing better than me, she is very competitive and encourages me to cycle/train more...problem solved!
  19. Okay I saw that bike against the metal fixtures coming down the building...I sit in that building... The diamond? is there almost everyday, I think that guy comes in from Pinelands because he is dressed...I think that is an electric bike.
  20. I start from home in Kuilsriver, so it is a nice climb to get to the Zevenwacht start...when I have more time I will definately try the red loop included. My trail starts at the Zevenwacht country estate entrance to Zevenwacht farm, there is a nice proper forest trail(very messy however after rainfall)...it has ramps built there and I've seen bikers using it for jumps...
  21. Did the green route yesterday afternoon, I must say the single track is awesome... I have never tried the other routes, not even the longer green route...does it get better than the short green route?
  22. I saw a red KHS dual suspension this morning making its way down Langverwagt road in Kuilsriver towards the station. Could be legit, but it does not look like a typical cyclist for the type of bike...the bike is also fitted with flat pedals so it could of been a gift from the boss or the said cyclist might of had it for a while already...
  23. Spot on...lovely road to cycle on...
  24. The STI won't like that setup...
