Read a thread on MTBR about this cassette. Seems there are some issues with the chain climbing off when in the biggest sprocket and backpedaling (not sure why one would do that, but anyway). Apparently a 6mm offset chainring helps a bit to solve the issue

Hi All Looking at getting some slightly less beefy and faster rolling tyres for my Trance 29. The stock DHF / DHR II are really a bit overkill. I was considering the 2.4WT Rekons, but they don't seem to be available locally. Any other suggestions? Tyres will be going onto the 30mm inner width Giant TRX wheels

Had a look at the geometry numbers. 2 degrees on the seat tube, 3cm on the seat tube and 8mm on the reach separate this bike from the Trance 29. Would love to ride them back to back

It does end up at the Post Office, however it is quick and they try and deliver the parcel directly to your address. However, they don't inform you they are on the way nor how much customs, VAT etc is due. Usual delivery time around 11 days from date of order

The yellow (I think) loop goes up the path on the left (from the bottom of the climb). The red loop comes down on the path on the right. If people are on the correct path there is no issue

Did the 30km loop on Saturday. Can't complain about the paths being overgrown, though I did not do the last single track right before the big rock face. Enjoyed every second of my ride. As for the "Tree Dodging" section, just do the climb up to the start, klap it, then do the climb again!

Stock hub is a DT 3 pawl one. Apparently a ratchet upgrade can be done, but it is a proper bodge. Got a DT 350 hub and ratchet kit which Nic the Wheelbuilder is sorting for me

Alrighty then. Did Hennops on the Trance on Saturday. Wasn't pushing super hard or going for a Strava PB (though the JMBC crowd called me a "racing snake" ), but I did manage my best average speed on a ride to date. Before the ride I installed some sintered pads in the Guide R brakes, which definitely added a load more bite to the stopping power. The only thing is the pads rattle about a fair bit. I stretched open the spring a bit last night and bled the system. Brakes feel much better after that. All in all I'm still really chuffed with the bike. Making a change to a DT Swiss 54t ratchet hub this weekend for much quicker crank engagement and more buzzzzzzzzzzzz.
