  1. Just watched a Loam Wolf video on the new Mahle ebike motors. Drew was riding an unreleased Titan Racing ebike which looks really good. Any beans to spill @Titan Racing Bikes?
  2. The Skyrim is a solid bike by all accounts. No idea on the Silverback. I'll disagree with the sentiment on the Microshift gears. Plenty of review sites say it is excellent in terms of reliability and shift quality. SRAM SX is pants!
  3. Honestly, the support from iKhambi is some of the best in any industry in SA.
  4. Bought a Ryet power saddle look alike. Impressed with the quality, comfort and speed of delivery. Hoping it will be durable as well
  5. Marzocchi Z2 fork, Shimano Deore 12s groupset and brakes and Lyne Components wheels finishing kit would be a solid bike
  6. In my opinion, the Chisel will probably be the better bike if you’re looking to do the odd race while keeping the bike and upgrading the frame over time. The Zini will be a more forgiving (and better specced) bike initially, but will be a bit less racy. The difference won’t be huge between the two bikes.
  7. Local wahoo support (iKhambi distribution) will help you out. Their support is second to none.
  8. For 38k the best bike you are likely to get (IMO) is a Specialized Chisel (Shimano version). This is if you’re looking to do more XC type riding and maybe the odd race, which seems to gel with what you’ve said, but a bit more info than copy pasting bike spec would be appreciated. https://www.specialized.com/za/en/chisel-shimano/p/4274029?color=5427874-4274029&searchText=93825-5005 For a bit less than that, the Zini Roam is a very underrated bike and blows the Titan away in terms of spec: https://bike-addict.co.za/products/zini-roam-2025?_pos=4&_sid=c1f4f84b3&_ss=r
  9. Can you be more specific as to what you struggled with in terms of the bike? Fitness and weight will make the biggest difference to you riding experience, but a good bike does help. You also need to be honest in terms of what type of riding you want to do and how far you want to take it. As part of that you need to decide what your priorities in terms of a bike are. Light and fast or comfortable. A proper XC race bike will mean a lower front end, which not every amateur can tolerate, whereas something a bit more on the trail side of things will be a lot more comfortable. That Titan is a good, but very basic bike. It is quite heavy, has a noodle fork (for someone of your size) and terrible SRAM SX gears. In my opinion, it is something you’d ride for a bit and then realize you’d want to upgrade again. Giving us an idea of your budget would also be helpful.
  10. Any reason why you are not keen on the Enduro bearings? I know from experience with a 2019 Trance that only Enduro had the sizes I needed. Maybe @droo can advise if alternatives are available
  11. Take it to CBR in Randburg for a proper evaluation. If you are unlucky, they can arrange repair, repaint etc via your insurance. If you are lucky they can confirm nothing is wrong
  12. Hijack on Asseblief don't use Sunlight or any other dishwashing soap. It is full of salt and other stuff that attacks gloss and matt finishes on bikes. Some Shield or similar car wash is a much better bet and won't break the bank Hijack off
  13. Are those DT Swiss based hubs? I think I have a torque cap set for the DT Swiss 350 (Also compatible with 370 and 180 hubs). Drop me a PM and I'll confirm the part number
  14. Can highly recommend Tryptch Resources. Box the bike up, get a quote from them, await pick up and a day or so later the bike is with the new owner. Bicycle Transport | Cape Town | Triptych Resources
  15. Spoken by someone who has clearly never owned a Reverb or a Gen 1 or 2 OneUp
  16. A 12 speed Shimano or Sunrace HG cassette will work fine with the SRAM setup.
  17. Battled a current gen Scott Spark once. Never again!
  18. Definitely not, until you have to try and route a dropper cable through a frame, around a BB and up a seat tube. A "quick job" becomes a 10 hour struggle which results in several MacGuyver solutions being tried, knuckles skinned, dogs shouted at an several specialist tools being purchased. Reverb AXS and Transfer Neo make all the pain go away
  19. Kyalami. No thanks.
  20. Some Dr Scholl or Kiwi (or other brand) shoe deodorizer spray once the shoe is 100% dry. I also put cedarwood deodorizing inserts in my shoes after every ride and leave them in until the next time the shoes are used.
  21. GPLama on YouTube has reviewed some of those budget power meters recently. Have a look, he has some very interesting findings
  22. https://evobikes.co.za/product/avid-adaptor-40-p-std-for-front-rear-200mm/
  23. Can confirm. Used to be a day or two to get the money after the deal was verified. Now it is a matter of an hour at most in my experience
  24. The Titan Skyrim ST has (comparing size M to M) 2 degree slacker head tube 2.5 degree steeper effective seat tube angle (though the Merida’s is slacker than Ferris Bueller) 29mm more reach 70mm more wheelbase And 20mm more travel up front with 10mm more out back Anyone who knows anything and MTB geometry will tell you there is nothing similar between the two bikes. And yes, I do say they are nothing alike.
