  3. True, I had to get my wife a Juicer, I still owe her a gas oven/stove, a Kenwood Mixer and have to scrub her heels every now and again... but it was worth it. Rouxtjie, you got away easy.
  4. I was in the same boat two months ago, although I was choosing between the Sprada 27.5 and the Anthem 27.5. My LBS offered me the Anthem 1 (Full XT) at a better price than the Sprada 1 so I obviously took the Anthem. I would say take the Anthem, both are bloody awesome bikes though.
  5. I've also sold and bought quite a few time on The Hub Classifieds, never once had a problem. But I'm also always very careful and make sure the I trust the buyer seller before I make transfers etc. Try and deal with cash for smaller items.
  6. Sorry if this has been posted before.
  7. Where are you commuting from? I commute when the weather gets a bit warmer from Auckland Park to Rosebank. I think I've seen the guy you talking about, black Full Suss?
  8. Saw this and didn't know where else to post it...
  9. Yeah, I was just kidding. Trying to create some controversy... maybe that was a bit too honest. BTW, Iwan Kemp, I see yo're also very active on mtbr, nice to see familiar 'faces' on other forums.
  10. So 26ers are faster than 29ers? And I should attach weights to my hubs to accelerate faster
  11. My brother completed his honours in Town Planning at Wits, and his thesis is now officially published. The topic of his thesis was: The Role of Urban Design in Promoting Cycle Friendly Environments in Johannesburg: The Educational Corridor Check it out, it is also available for download. Please feel free to leave comments here. He is now working for Freedom Ride Jozi and was the organiser of this year's ride. Well done Bro!
  12. I tried riding a hardtail after a few years of riding my DS, it felt like I was standing one of those vibrating exercise machines with wheels attached to it...
  13. So do we need to add import taxes on those prices? Or is all that stuff included if purchasing from here?
  14. Blurry Hel! How does he sit down with b@lls that big
  15. I was all against e-bikes/motorised bicycles until I saw this. I know it's not an 'e-bike', but who's going to argue with me when they see me on the trails with this? 16. Thanks guys for all the advice, Strides has a 15mm Thru-Axle Adapter for R163. Going to get it from them.
  17. Thanks, gave him a call. His prices sound very reasonable. Think I'll probably take one from him.
  18. That sounds like a plan, I'll just have to drill really straight. Will a normal everyday drill work? Or will I need something heavy duty? Will I have to adjust the width?
  19. I think it was around here:
  20. Hey Joey, I called a company called Hanler Products based in Benoni (hanlerproducts.co.za), they sell parts for bike racks, mountings etc. the lady gave me a price of around R400 which she said is RRP, but she said I would probably find it cheaper if I called one of the stores that they supply. She said I should check with Linden Cycles who should have it for about R350, I haven't yet called them to check. Westdene cycles had the same thing but another brand for R430.
  21. Hi Fire Engine, here are the pics of what I have:
  22. Yeah, thanks for the advice, probably going to to go with the R300 adapter.
  23. Crap, that's really terrible, I pass that stretch when I commute, and I usually commute at around that time. That's for sharing, glad your buddies made it out okay...
  24. I guess so... just a bit strapped for cash at the moment I guess, trying to save where I can, was hoping I could've had one made for much cheaper. But thanks everyone for the replies, seems like I'll have to fork out for the adapter.
