  1. Starting commuting again after a long break in December - January. Really enjoying it. Adding a extra couple km's of hills on my ride home. I've gotten use to crossing in and out of the cycle lanes now, the yellow rumble strips don't scare as much as they used to, so no more having to sit behind taxi's dropping off passengers in the cycle lane, I now just hop over onto the lane, overtake the taxi, and back in the cycle lane a few meters in front of them, then they can either stay behind me, or drive in the car lane. Also a bit more comfortable riding in the rain now, I've decided not to bother about weather reports as they wrong most of the time, so if its not raining in the morning when I get out of the shower, I take the bike, and if it rains on my way back home, one of those things... I just expect thats it's going to rain on my commute home, that way I don't get nervous if it is raining when I'm about to leave the office. Thanks to the commuting, I'm also getting my free drinks from Vida once a week.
  2. I'm sure that thing has devoured many bunnies... so no, not bunny hopping that thing.
  3. Leaving for Tzaneen today, after seeing this posted yesterday, I'm a bit worried about my plans to do some mountain biking there. What should one do if coming across this on the trail?
  4. Yeah, but for for that price it washes, lubes and does minor fixes to your bike while the bikes are secured to it.
  5. "Making use of our NSW-exclusive Cognition hubset, 454 NSW rolls efficiently whether you are pedalling or coasting." I think this feature came standard on my 2014 Giant Anthem, because I definitely feel my wheels roll efficiently whether I'm pedalling or coasting. Zipp stealing technology from Giant?...
  6. I just need this, I have the 2 pin charger that plug into the wall, only the cable was missing from the box: Thanks Robojedi, will PM you if I don't find anything else soon, using my dads charger at the moment.
  7. Hi guys, Got a Fenix 3 on the weekend, a brand new but demo model, only problem is the cable with the charging clip is missing, I did get the charger though, please let me know if you have one that you're not using.
  8. Late entries available at the venue, not sure about prizes for the winners, I assume there would be, not that it concerns me as I'm no race snake, what I do know however is that there is a prize for the best dressed cyclist.
  9. Looking forward to the race on Saturday... third time I'm doing the 55km, thoroughly enjoyable race.
  10. Pic after my commute this morning. New job and new offices in Braamfontein... The coffee in Braamfontein is amazing by the way. This is outside Father Coffee.
  11. I feel sorry for all the okes that took Apple watches hoping to 'pay' them of with Strava workouts.
  12. Just got this in my inbox: Vitality Active Rewards has been Vitality's most successful benefit to date. And while early data shows an average increase in physical activity of 21% among members, the support of a broad range of apps and devices has also highlighted certain issues regarding data reliability. We are therefore refining how you can earn Vitality points using fitness apps and devices. As reported by many of our members, Strava integration has been problematic this year resulting in poor user experiences. In addition, we are no longer able to support third party integrations or devices that allow self-reported data. At this stage, verified and self-reported data on Strava cannot be differentiated on our platform and we are therefore in the process of discontinuing this method of integration from the Vitality programme, effective 2 April 2016. If you have a Garmin or Polar device that is linked to Strava, you need to link directly to Vitality to continue earning Vitality fitness points. If you have a TomTom or SUUNTO device linked through Strava, please log into our website and link your device before 18 March 2016.

  14. Front row seats at Thaba trails on Saturday morning.
  15. Super comfy, love that they have no Velcro wrist strap, just fit snug around your wrists. Would have been absolutely perfect if they were touch screen compatible, but a really neat piece of kit. Got them here: http://dialdbikes.co.za/protection/gloves/
  16. Wife bought me these for my Birthday in December, wanted a pair of long finger gloves for ages, and they match my blue Anthem almost perfectly . Next item on the list is new lid, hopefully won't take too long to save up. http://oneindustries.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/thumbnail/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/5/2/52067-037_1.jpg
  17. Here's a link to their online shop: http://bikegoodies.co.za/product-category/allpedros/
  18. Thanks DJR, no laptop thankfully, and it seems it's mostly dried up already, maybe just a bit damp.
  19. No matter how many time's I've had to ride home in the rain, I still start to crap myself every time I'm going to have to do it again. This time I'm really worried though cos it's going to be the first time riding in the wet on my road bike.
  20. Not just a song, what an epic album (1997)
  21. I think the bike is flikkin gorgeous, the colour stunning, probably the the nicest looking bike after the Yeti SB5c (my opinion). I fail to see the justification of spending 55k on a steel hardtail. What am I missing...?
