  1. If I remember correctly, I used garmin connect to map the route. And then saved the file on my 500. You can even set a time or pace and then 'race' against yourself.
  2. Yes. It will show a vertical line and then a horizontol line to the right if it's a right turn. Quite cool. I've done it before for a route I haven't done before.
  3. There were a few responses regarding wheel size so I thought of my question which I think is still relevant?
  4. Maybe a stupid question, but does it really matter how tall you are? Was just thinking, everyone rides the same 29 wheels on a road bike. Or is the difference needed for the type of riding, e.g. single track, twisty turns compared to pretty much a straight line on the road.
  5. Can't verify, but apparently Wiggo's comments were broadcasted on BBC first. Interesting twist since it's Sky's major competitor commercially. In my opinion, that team has never been a happy team. All work and no play. So you would kind of expect a type of rebel like Wiggo to push the boundaries through the years with his behaviour and comments.
  6. Really? What should we be doing, Wyatt? Roll over and let anger and hate take over and poison our minds? I understand that this forum is fun for you, but I do draw a line sometimes and I will voice my opinion just like everybody does. If you don't condemn certain behaviour, you in a sense agree with it. Remember there are many hubbers out there that don't know the secret code of the hub. To get back to the topic, yes, the baggage was misplaced and/or stolen. That does not mean the whole South Africa, or rather a certain "group" according to some, are responsible. As was mentioned, you'll insure your bike if it's valued at R100k. The same as you won't try to include your bike in your general insurance, but you'll rather specify it seperately at the R100k.
  7. No. You stated "they" and "baboons". Can you please give references for your so called facts?
  8. Why the heck are they charging different rates for "African resident" and "Overseas resident"? For an individual and a year it's R375 and R675. What difference does it make where you come from? What bollocks.
  9. Oh. Sorry. I'm a bit slow sometimes!
  10. He said "bike case" which I assume perhaps includes other non-bike items, e.g. helmet, clothes, spares, etc.
  11. Have you ever heard of non-profit? Sure they still make a profit, but just enough to cover expenses. Non-profits would be much more inclined to share information than for profit companies. In my opinion in any case.
  12. I don't think so? Why would they share? ASG is for profit. I guess we can go check which races are included in each of their seeding lists. But I don't have time now.
  13. I agree. Great story. Let's all be more generous not only in terms of money, but also kindness everywhere including the trails and roads.
  14. I'm not even there! Thanks for breaking the website
  15. I'm really just asking out of interest! I'm going to rephrase my question, because I think it was kind of misunderstood. If he bought the Garmin at CycleLab two years ago, CycleLab would not have known about it even thought they profited. In any case, it shouldn't be a requirement to take on a job? I guess the Garmin model is a bit different than normal in the sense that you can go directly to Garmin even though they don't have a shop front and use the current cycle and other shops as their distribution points. I don't know which is better, because it creates confusion regarding where you should go (as illustrated by this thread).
  16. Let's say he did buy it at CycleLab. The situation would've been exactly the same?
  17. By your argument if you buy a dud bmw you must go to bmw in germany, because the guy in sandton is only a dealer. If you buy spolied food at woolies you must go to the farmer. I don't agree. If you are the front to the public, you should take all the responsibility of whatever happens behind the scenes.
  18. I should think so. Quite popular. They haven't updated the website yet for the 2014 series... http://www.engencycling.co.za/
  19. Not sure what you mean, but I'm not the fastest gun so it might be just me!
  20. Well done! Start planning to do some more training next year, non?
  21. Talking about Kevin's interview and Max's almost interview.
  22. I rode with them most of stage 3. First of all Lourens was an absolute machine. Sat in the front and paced the whole way with her tucked in behind. They actually go pretty steady all the way and don't climb that fast. He didn't push her that much. She is a machine in her own right.
  23. Not taking a dig at you, but I guess you also believe this? “The hypothesis that eating saturated fats can increase cholesterol levels which in turn can cause heart attacks is widely accepted by the medical community.”
  24. Where did you get all this information from, because it doesn't sound right?
  25. Interesting podium interviews...
