It was brought to a head when a police officer veered across the road and hit three cyclists, killing two, after apparently falling asleep at the wheel. Two online articles address what has developed since that terrible accident two weeks ago. One, headlined "Bicyclists Blamed Twice as Often as Drivers," quotes triathlon coach Marc Evans as saying, "There is a juggernaut out there -- the tension between the cyclists and the drivers is so high that it's become a war."
