  1. @Mattman and @woodrow my 189cm XL dad bod wants to see pictures, we are all waiting in anticipation.
  2. Yap we want pictures,
  3. Now that is something I would climb on board with, they make cool bikes but yes without the proprietary parts I think you'll have more people buying bikes from them.
  4. I’m very curious to figure out why they have kept the brain, is it so that you are forced to services your bike at a specialized shop at a premium? if you have a evo Epic then you can service it at any shop because you don’t have that brain component in the fork and shock. Most things on my bike I’ll do myself , but not really the suspension. So I wouldn’t buy a bike if it means I need to send it to a certain retailer to get the suspension serviced. So the Evo makes it exciting cause it should be a simpler bike to service in the bigger picture of things.
  5. Huge fan of the guys, not necessarily the brand. But seeing the bikes with the manual twist lockout makes me happy. Now we just need a budget friendly Epic Evo with deore 12 speed groupset, XT shifter and the twist lockout for those punchy climbs. Then I get to pretend I put out the same watts as those guys and pedal a sick bike at a budget😎.
  6. @devvydoesdonuts and I might have to pitch up in a Volkswagen Transporter disguised as a bike servicing shop. Then we have one bike stand with a bike hanging and 5 drum braais in the background making boeries, Espadas and pregos. You know we are hungry mechanics.
  7. Wow that sucks, and was that at this years epic? I see a gap in the market, next year I'm pitching up with a Boerewors roll stand, chipstix on the side with a steri stumpie.
  8. What did you guys eat post race? And what was offered?
  9. We are known to make up our own stats as a bikehub community but 9/10 is a bit high😅
  10. Anyone know the timestamp on the YouTube streem of Niños fall? Or would care to share a video?
  11. As everyone said tomorrow is going to be insane,I see the Specialized guys are only 1:32 behind Scott.
  12. Seeing that this is all Epic, I’m very curious to find out how do the Cape Epic attract people like Nino, Does he get paid to take part and to make media posts? A few days leading up to the race he would make some Epic posts on instagram. I’m just curious on how the economics work around the athletes . I understand that this might not be the place but if anyone knows or has some insight please send me a DM.
  13. I’m very curious to hear what your experience is between the two? I currently have a 2012 scultura and I see it’s geometry is very similar to the new reactos. How did the Defy feel in comparison, is the new bike too upright and not racy enough for you?
  14. It has been done Correction, forget what I said
  15. Just put on a dropper post then you have the perfect bike, ready for any downhill pass.
  16. Fellow mechanical engineer here, massive shimano fanboy and there are few things that get me worked up as the cheap SRAM stuff do. But with all my Shimano bias I do agree with you. The thru axle will pull everything into flush positions against the hub, so the derailleur should be in the same position every time in reference to the cassette and hub. It will eat the play up in the frame. or am I missing something here?
  17. Shot thank you, I’ll probably go for it
  18. I realized I have a cassette and upside tandem that don’t need a rim. BUT my sister in law is looking to a solution like that, if you have a through axle wheel with 10speed cassette laying around then that would be amazing. She has one of those 27.5 merida big seven lite mountain bikes. I’ll send you DM if so
  19. now that looks like a few dream monstercross gravel bikes ready to be built
  20. Haha you have my attention, does it involve putting a 26er rim on my road bike?
  21. Haha dangit that would have been amazing, do you have a rough idea how long those trainer specific tires last? As long as a normal tire or way longer ? Those Tacx ones are quite expensive but if it lasts then it’s worth it
  22. Haha ok road bike
  23. Hi Everyone, I have a vintage Elite trainer that I use, but I want to start using a roller specific tyre. It eats my gatorskins for breakfast. Any recommendations and what to look out for?
  24. Asking for a friend, where could one see this pic?
  25. Ah the days of me sitting in front of the pc at 12:57 just refreshing the entry page to make sure I get to enter in time. Slow internet? Sorry buddy no entry for you. Now you get to see how your December training goes before deciding to enter.
