Sounds like a great option when I get there. Are you able to use shimano pads or would you have to dig around the web to find replacement pads?

Ah that makes sense. So it was worth it to go from the 105 to the Tiagra to gain the hydraulic brakes? I can see why they put on the mechanical disk brakes . It looks like the hydraulic shifters are close to R8000

Interested to know what you replaced the shifters and brakes with? Probably the first thing I’ll update as well if I find the bike.

Hi Everyone, Anyone wanting to get rid of their 2019 Silverback Siablo GR in an XL? Or any feedback on the bike and how it was owning it.

Enjoyed the race. 10.5km loop at Dornier in Stellenbosch. Perfect weather. The first 4.5km about is uphill then the rest was a combination of fire roads and single track down. I ran with friend and just kept it in my threshold heart rate zone. At the 7km mark I asked my friend if I could go ahead and push the last 3.5km Apparently I hit 200bpm in those last 3.5kms, it was probably closer to 195bpm. Ended the race feeling smashed but accomplished with an average pace of 5:40min/km over 10.5 km and 230m elevation. Not even close to the podium runners but now a I want more of these type of races

Shot thank you, I have started slow and can do a 8km easily now. Buuuuut it's shocking how inefficient my body is at running vs cycling. Haven't found that zone 2 running pace yet...

Try putting in the battery upside down, that should reset the monitor. Mine stopped working and that did the trick, more than a year later still going strong

Reading through all of the posts I think I have realized that replacing the carbon MTB hardtail would be difficult. I get too much of kick out off feeling the immediate power transfer and negotiating the single tracks to find the smoothest line. My roadbike isn't worth much but the value I get out of it would be difficult to replace. Now speaking hypothetically and in a perfect world where I just have all the money one could want. I would replace my roadbike with a Scott Addict Gravel, light and responsive but can be used on the road or gravel. So guess for now I'm keeping my bike the way they are

Hi everyone That time of year when everyone has the need for a dramatic change, So this is my end of year "crises" I want to replace my 2011 Merida Scultura and 2014 Scott scale 930 with a single gravel bike. I enjoy the odd road race here and there with the yearly Argus to see if "This year is my sub 3 year". I enjoy riding in Jonkershoek but enjoy the climbing more than the coming down so would always opt for the fire roads down seeing that its still harsh on the Scale coming down Armageddon. Would I regret such a decision and would I still be able to push it in the odd road race if I put some skinny road tyres on the gravel bike? I guess its all in the legs, the real question is would I feel such a big difference between the road and gravel bike if I put on proper road tyres on the gravel bike, Like the GP5000 tyres. Has anyone tried racing with a gravel bike on the road with road tyres, and how was the experience?

I’ve always wanted to convert my hardtail into a gravel bike now I can hopefully just get the GRX shifters paired with my SLX 12 speed setup and some new handlebars.

I have no frame of reference, but would the pros be completely rested for the XCO after the XCC? At that level of their fitness are they able to rest that quickly?

Anyone know where one can see the highlights?

Yes only the front wheel, is the hub uniform throughout, cause if it expands in the then it will be hell to take out the axle
