    Now this is an interesting thought, so I might be better off doing the MTB rather than the road ride if I wanted to improve my seeding. I’ll probably be seeded in group C if I had to guess. It’s happened before where the Karoo To Coast as well gave me a great seeding

    My first Karoo to Coast is on my 2010 Giant XTC Allu in 2017. The amount of comments I got overtaking people on my 26er up those passes, golden. It was the year Scott handed out free kit to the lucky few, I was one of the lucky ones. They must have felt sorry for me cause the bike was to small for me as well. Not complaining, they kitted me out with shoes, trail shorts, shirt, helmet and sunglasses. Got to finish the race on the latest spark as well. To this day I'm a Scott fanboy, the year after I bought a 2014 Scott Scale 935 from a friend, and I use it to this day. To replace that bike that I bought for R11k would cost me R45k +

    I have the XT setup and it really is set and forget accept for the odd cable replacement, but that’s just normal wear and tear. Stick with it, if it ain’t broken don’t fix it.

    Well seeing that its Friday. I compared my scale to the Revolt's geometry and it seems like to Revolt will be more comfortable than my scale, twitchy but more comfortable with the higher stack and shorter reach.

    Wow how bikes have changed in the past 10 years. Don’t mind me just just squeezing in 2.2s in the back of my 2014 Scott scale. Gravel bikes are really starting to blur the lines between what is considered a mountain bike and a gravel bike.

    Ah but doesn’t the enjoyment lie in the fact that you put in time prepping for the race, getting your nutrition sorted and on the day leaving it all out on the course? Crossing the line KNOWING you had nothing left in the tank and getting the dopamine rush from the realization of what you accomplished today?

    How does one get into the & group, do you need a racing license? or would a 1A seeding be the safer option when chasing a sub 3 purely looking at group size?
