  1. A long time I did carry a10kg backpack though. I left ceris at 5am. Got to "op die berg" which is 40km on at about7am.. waited for the shop to open, bought food and set on to the oasis. There is another 15km of tar road before getting to the dirtroad, from there It is 50 km of dessert. the first 20 odd Km is pretty flat but gets hot! I hit this around 11 in the morning, and In Feb that is already 30deg..I arrived around 2pm..broken
  2. Keen to do that. My only Cederberg expedition was riding solo from ceris to Cederberg Oasis and back over 2 days in the middle of summer. I almost died. ran out of water 2 hours before the finish.. no cellphone reception, no people no shade. As jy dom is moet jy ***. the last climb before the oasis was this beast..and then back up the next day. but there are about 5 of those, Including Gaydo pass on the way out of ceris.
  3. Unbelevable.. that is weak..
  4. Yebo.. And that you cant go attack all day long every day because you dont have the gummyberry juice to get you to the startline fresh tomorrow. So the guys have to be more carefull how they use their chances. I heard Chris Horner talk about wattage in an interview yesterday, and he was goiing on and on about numbers.. The guys know how long they can sustain a sertain wattage before they blow and have to look at that.
  5. Not a chance that such a big group will go.. Yesterday was made possible because the first 70 km was flat and they could build up a lead. today there is 14km before the first beistmeister Climb..
  6. But I like the shape.. Its unfortunately just the way it is, some shock setups just makes for a better looking bike. and I think the shock being in line with the seatstay might make it smoother when bearings start getting dirty.
  7. I MEANT THAT.. haha whats a Ransom again?
  8. Im liking Sagan more and more. Its like he sidestepped the politics and is just having the time of his life. Awesome. Cant wrong that.
  9. Hijack..!! SCOTT ransom 27.5 I think they finally got it right. And its beautifull
  10. Amen.. Either that they are to scared, or Like Wannabee just said.. Sky is driving so hard up front that no one has the legs. Would love to see Evans go and Froom left looking back at daddy-longlegs and giving him a wink "see you later buddy".. and Evans and Froom end up putting time on Twigs.. Then you'll see that foulmouthed chave Wiggins loose it!! And we will rejoice!
  11. You know what, I dont give two hoots, I liked everything about the guy except his Pistol salute. I dont know to what extent this guy has been involved, and yes that is a major bummer but when he raced S*it happened.. and his attitude was cool, Maybe It was because he couldnt speak a word of English and spoke with his riding, seemed humble somehow..
  12. I didnt want to say it.. but oh yes man..Thats one guy who could take Wiggo's lunch from him. Pitty there will never be something positive said about him without someone shouting the D-Bomb from the back of the room. @ Dangle.. I know exactly what youre saying but at the same time Its boring as a five match test series at Lords.. and we are only just half way. I'd love If froom had a off day (not that I dont like him) just so that Twiggy has to defend his jersy himself for one day.
  13. Where the F*#k is someone with enough balls and or legs to ride a divot through the GC camp.. I hope that day comes tomorrow. If Sky is going to defend this race from the 8th stage out It might be a pretty sad 11 days of racing. Cuddles will have to get luckey because as someone said earlier Sky is beating him at his own game. If Twiggy does not make a break over a climb or do something other than whip Froome in his skychariot He wont ever get my respect, ITT ace or not - He loves his sideburns so much he thinks he's Elvis.. The stage is set for someone to make a name for themself... step up to the plate!
  14. ****, after Nibs got caught I was bored.. Went for a surf. Damn waves were good! I will have to catch the highlights.
  15. Its on soccer mate
  16. anyone have a live audio link? My internet is slow today for some reason.. (probably all you buggers sucking the line dry
  17. This break away could be a very cool launch pad for even Scarponi, Sanchez and Casar..If they find their legs somewhere..
  18. Interesting thing I read on this about Sagan. "It was in mountain biking where Sagan earned his nickname, the Terminator—not because of what he did to the competition but what he did to his equipment. “He was always destroying wheels and tires,” said Slongo. Just 17 years old, Sagan was an obvious talent."
  19. that sounds better..when I spin out on a downhill in 11x53 I sure aint doing 200odd km/h
  20. Me thinks today is a nice day to attack the Yellow Yersy.. not to much flat at the end either.. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/nibali-looks-for-allies-to-take-on-wiggins I see Nibali is looking for an allies to take on the Yellow, Van den Broeck vowes to attack and Cadel needs 2 minutes, and another 2 before the end to be in for a chance. I see the start of a beautifull friendship Something along the lines of let Froome make pace up the Colombier and Cadel&friends wheelsuck to the top. Wiggo was expecting a break the whole way so might be caught napping when the attack comes at the top, then Cadel& friends who are good desenders make a break for it down the other side of the Colombier and try to open some more over the last couple of kms.. One thing is for sure, Evans will attack = Great entertainment. Nibali has been all talk.. lets see what he's got
  21. My thoughts exactly.. Froome is quite new to the top levels of cycling (last years Vulta?) and I think he would be a fool to go for the first best offer from a smaller lesser team. With so many high profile athletes all firing on 110% he is at the best place right now. and can learn from them. Although I cant imagine it being to easy riding for tWiggo..
  22. I think the only way lance is getting out of this is if he hires Harvey Specter (the suits)
  23. The only way I seem to be KOM at something is If I create my own KOM somewhere remote, hehe. Although at the same time Its nice to ride some hills and see the grades, also to find some catagorised climbs and see you you do on them. I think I was 8th up Kloofnek a year or so ago (last time I was fit) and Held the KOM for the first steep climb of Knysna 85km mtb race, but that was because I rode my Roadbike up there. Kevin Evans then spoilt that for me when he went faster on his MTB we all dream hey as long as we dont take ourselves to serious
  24. 'Flemish Lion' Here's an interesting read: http://www.cyclismas...es-and-arrests/ by UCI_Overlord on Tuesday, July 10th, 2012 ......Sure, he doesn’t like to lose, but Armstrong also knows when not to take on a challenge that he feels he can’t win. Why do you think Armstrong didn’t ride the classics season, or ride the Giro d’Italia until the last year of his career? He is a master at evaluating his best use of resources to maximum effect. He is a brilliant tactician. How is it that a brilliant tactician is all of a sudden making such massive mistakes? Well He did come out of retirement thinking he could win the tour and was clearly not on the same level as the likes of Contador and Shleck Its a good read yes, And valid points made, Pity we might never get to hear the real truth. Or will we? If its easy enough to figure out as this reporter "UCI OVERLORD"did in this article, then maybe USADA who apparently dont give two hoots about the IMAGE of the sports they could have damaged the public eye of thus far. However in the same breath, LA is the very person who gets the public attention. He is the hero, the "greatest cyclist of all time" etc.. and for that reason allone I dont think it would be fair, not to go after Lance, He was still wrong, he might have been encouraged, he might have been said its ok by Hein Verbruggen , but that doesnt make it right. I mean seven times tour winner.. There are titanic battles fought every year around one tour.. he won 7. If he had the balls/arogance to get up to the top step 7 times, then I think he should take the shitstorm coming his way aswell.
  25. I love this..
