  1. Nicola I only now saw you actually asked a question in the middle of my post, haha.. sorry for not answering you. Yes the UST is much tougher.. you wont tear one of those .Although with Kevin Evans and David George's luck you can tear a car tyre wall
  2. To true.. Though I cant stand the guy I got to give it to him for trying his hand at Mtb, and Tri aswell. I know he was a triathlete before he became pure road cyclist but ya, not to many guys get to the top in diferent diciplines these days..Got to give it to the guy. He is bloody headstrong.
  3. To be honnest. I am just waiting for the race to start.. I love big mountains and oh isnt it amazing when the guys are down to 10 or so in the peleton and the big guns play their cards.. But there is so many aspects to cycling. Cadel's win on stage 1 of Dauphine' was like a breath of fresh air when he attacked on a downhill to get a win. so cool, and he's a GC contender I love it and It would be so cool if a tour winner can show diversity, sure this year a pure climber will battle to win, but wouldnt it be awesome to see a guns ablaze tour in stead of definsive prodding .. Im smoking something arent I..
  4. Weird to have such different views on the same product. I Used the race king UST on the rear for about a year and It wasn’t even worn through. Its lighter than the maxis Crossmark LUST and IMO almost just as tough. Looking at your Picture I presume you turned the foldable version of the Mountain king into tubliss as I cant see how you could destroy a sidewall of a UST version weighing 50-60kg (assumption on your pic) As I said I rode the tire hard in very rockey capetown area and I took it off because I got bored.. It’s a very good tire. Grips fairly well in most conditions. Not good over a wet route, but what bar a spike tire grips on wet routes? It has nice and low rolling resistance and In my opinion almost fit and forget. Dont put it on your trailbike, its a race tire, so its great for covering distance, and If youre ok at handeling your bike then you'll get far more from your race tire than you might ever really need. just some skill and finesse. Not wide as someone stated above? My race king 2.2 looked more like a 2 inch tire on my 25mm wide (standard width) rim. So If she’s riding a Hard tail It wont give her to much bump absorption. The 2.4 Mountain king is nice and big but not sure they even make the race king in 2.4.
  5. Im speechless.. Im my opinion Lance should never have made a comeback then they might have let it sleep.. He has been tested positive, I think 99' tour of switserland. But he paid them to make it go away. Funny as a month after that happened they received a large sum of money from lance.. I think the UCI also did.
  6. Hahah Ok.. Wel Contador is riding.. thats the important part.Andy will probably opt for the USA Pro challenge or something because he likes the small intimate races. It reminds him of his family. Mom, dad, boetie..
  7. |Im sad Andy wont ride the Tour.. Because now all his fans will say "so and so only won because Andy wasnt riding" At least it will make the Vulta quite a showdown
  8. sorry that was Andy Scmuck in 5th.. personally I dont think he's racing fit, but as I said, he'll take 2-3 minutes on every one on a particular day..And when He rides the tour will still be a favourite. (not of mine though) Ya like mentioned a couple of times its so hard to rate guys doing well in lesser races. Cobo for instance. I think we all watched him put the hurt on Sky in the Vulta where every day seemed to be a mountains day and 20% seemed to be the order of the day.. so it proves he is strong I'd like to see him up there for sure! Nibali has showed he can ride mountains but that was 2 years ago.. and I really think that unless youre a Albero Contador you have to peak so perfectly for those big mountain weeks that these other names might be there for one or two days but not be there every day. It sure as hell is going to be interrested and Im sure a lot of us is going to be proven wrong, and thats exciting. You mention Pierre Roland.. but surely he will have to ride for Tommy Voekler? although he cant Climb high mountains not TT..so its pointless. Moviestar has a team quite capable climbers with lots of mountain stage winners so far this year. Anothe rname no one is mentioning is Micheal Rogers from skyy.. Jeezlike Sky has a packed team.. Wil be interesting to see how they keep them all happy. I guess they have the dosh..
  9. Ok So I'll put my bets down.. Ive never really liked Wiggo, he's bloody ugly at that.. but his riding has impressed me this year and I think he has some attitude an on top of that he wants to win. I think the fact that he will be caravanned around by his team is obviously going to count in his favour but Im not convinced of his climbing.. Yes He'll have Froom but I dont think he's as good in the high mountains as Andy and Alberto (obviously not riding but if anyone thinks someone else will win the Vulta this year they are cunfused individuals) IMO Not Cadel or Wiggo can really go with the two of them and mark my words Andy will do something like his long breakaway victory of lasy year again on one of the last mountain stages. I dont think he can get 6minutes clear in the mountains though, because thats what Wiggo wil take out of him in the TT. Dont get me wrong he is everything Everyone dislikes in a cyclist exceopt he doesnt quite cry like Cuddles. But I like Cuddles.. I use to like him because he is a ex mtbiker but nowdays so many athletes goes back and forth its not a big deal. What I do like about him is he's been showing agression and he's not afraid of improvising. I think he will take wiggo on in quite a couple of stages where the finish is at the foot after the climbs. Yes Sky kept it together for Wiggo on a stage in the Dauphine, but They will not always have a hand full of riders left in the high mountains. and I dont think theres many that will stick to Cadel on the downs. I'll also put my cash on cadel to go for a stage win in a medium mountain stage with a uphill finish. I do look forward to this years tour though and I think a lot of guys are going to be "made" this year. SAGAN is so good.. I would love to see him take Cav's money because its getting a bit boring to see cav win the whole time, although at the same time nice to see someone dominating in a area in a sport that ever changes and is as competative as it gets. So although I have voted Wiggo because He is the obvious strongest rider at this moment. My heart goes to Evans..Just because he's the underdog although reighning champion. He will have to do so much more and play so much cleaverer to beat such a team as Sky. 1- Evans 2- Wiggo 3- Nibali 4- Froom 4-Schleck
  10. Shot Mushashi! I hope its not to dreanched. Its rained a lot the last 36 hours.. and im sure there will be some snow on the mountains. its going to be a muddy affair
  11. So I might just do this as I have never done it! Who has done it? whats it like? I normally enjoy the long stuff but have not raced since Lourensford last year and done very little riding as Ive got married. Are there some long climbs? I still cant find a Profile on the PPA site.. If anyone has one from previous years please post. Hills? anything mean I should know about? Is there a lot of clay? Thorns? Sheesh I feel like a nuub asking these questions I'd expect to finish it in about 2:40 ish?
  12. No He would have asked her where the bathrooms are... cause he's crapping himself!
  13. I love these two pics below... Cuddles, almost in tears again Wiggo, looks like he's asking the trophy girl..."what did you say ??!!"... I wouldnt mind either of them winning. I'd say Cadel is perhaps peaking at the more Ideal time but this might make wiggo more hungrey to win.. He does seem in good form. At least he wants to win. Im not even going to mention the sisters..
  14. where is this shop? Ive seen him on the hub but Im baffled at the lack of a good shop around town..
  15. off topic...holy crap - look waht I just saw on bikerumour..the new Campag TT grouppo..maybe this will give the lesser TT guys a chance...
  16. looks pretty flat to me that mortirolo is going to fry the guys... its steep! and then to make sure the guys dont get off to easy the stelvio.. which I guess if the guys have made it over the first climb will be where they make time on the other GC guys..and If anyone was going to try play it safe, its the last day to make up time, so they have to go... Personally I think Pozzovivo might drop the guys on the Mortirolo or whatever. He looked much stronger and whilst the comentators thought he was testing the other guys when he made the pace hard on wednesday I think He just didnt have the conficence to do something the others were not doing.. which was ride away from anyone.. Unfortunately they will catch him on the downhills.. but on a stage like today he should give it a bash, he has nothing to lose.. I think the otherguys who are playing it safe will be forced to make a move then instead of just waiting till someone openes up the game.
  17. was kind of wandering what he was doing there still, I thought he's trying to improve on his climbing
  18. Franky poo...lol thats funny He must watch who he points fingers to.. he'll get a bitch slap. maybe it will sort him out. Those two are FOREVER making excuses.. jeezlike its so predictable really. Just shut up and ride.
  19. Scroll to the right of the pic ok hills..
  20. Today is going to be good.. some mountains and much shorter than yesterday.
  21. Jeezz sorry that image is massive, just about 1:1
  22. Ya its hard to see just how steep that bump at the end is.. but its catagorised, just.. about like kloofnek.. shouldnt hold cav off I dont think. but my guess is as good as yours
  23. aparently him and Andy love cooking and reading LOL
