  8. Okay its no looker, but it could be fast. Let's use this as an example, The Gumpert Apollo, a hideous car, but blisteringly quick! I wouldn’t say no. ----- The Apollo uses a 4163 cc bi-turbo intercooled version of the Audi V8 engine.[7] The 90° V8 has a closed-deck light metal crankcase with dry sump lubrication. The light metal cylinder heads have five valves per cylinder, four overhead camshafts, VarioCam Direct variable valve timing on the intakes, and hydraulic valve clearance compensation. The double-flow exhaust system has four oxygen sensors to monitor the gas mixture, and a 3-way catalytic converter. Modern controls include an on-board diagnostic system, eight-coil electronic ignition, sequential multipoint fuel injection, and an electronic (drive by wire) accelerator system. There are 3 engine types available: Base version - approximately 650 PS (478 kW; 641 bhp) Sport version - approximately 700 PS (515 kW; 690 bhp) Race version - approximately 800 PS (588 kW; 789 bhp) Speed overview: Top speed is 360.4 km/h (223.9 mph) 0-100 km/h (62 mph) reached in 3.21 seconds 0-200 km/h (120 mph) in 7.8 seconds.
  9. that does look quick!

  11. It's waiting for you!
  12. I can count on 1 hand the days i have not been able to ride due to the weather. Luckily for us, global warming has changed winters for us. The other issue is “frozen b@lls” having to be thawed in boiling water due to the extreme cold in JHB. We fortunately do not suffer from that kind of self abuse.
  13. Lekka ride. I do it the other way, up The Glen to signal and then to the end of Tafelberg rd.
  14. That aint no single pivot!
  15. Hardtail bikes are the best… if… You are riding smooth single track and need accurate response You need good climbing ability You want a lighter bike You want pedalling efficiency (and to conserve your own energy) If you are a XC racer who is after the biggest weight saving Want a bike that is easier to maintain and keep in good working order Are a dirt jumper who wants better pump off of jumps Full Suspension bikes are the best… if… You ride downhill Go off jumps/drop-offs Suffer from saddle-ass Ride in rough terrain Want an all round bike with less limitations Want a smoother ride on the trail Want a more comfortable bike
  16. You answered your own question, right there!

    Eina!

That doesn’t look lekka. Speedy recovery.
  18. So i have watched - Roam, Seasons and The Collective - all amazing. They make it look so easy. After watching them, you just want to get on your bike and jump your bike off the roof! Hit me with some other titles!
  19. Tech question 1. – (cable not connected) when setting the high and low screws on the rear, the low setting is fine as the chain/derailleur is always positioned here, but how do you set the high setting. Are you supposed to physically push the derailleur up to this level, to get the chain to the high cassette ring? What configuration should the front chain ring be in when doing this? Tech question 2. - When connecting the cable to the rear derailleur how tight must you pull and attach the cable. Do you need to have any gearing configuration when doing this i.e. small gear at the back or large gear at the back? Tech question 3 - the screw that controls the rear derailleur spring, what is the default setting for this?
  20. Is this road or mntn? Looks like a lekka ride!
  21. Classic!
  22. F#$ing nuttas! Just saw the other thread about this, but cant delete this topic! Red Bull Rampage is not your average mountain biking contest. It's the ultimate freeriding event, with riders free to choose their own path down a descent of 1,500 vertical feet in the unforgiving landscape of Southwestern Utah. On a series of sandstone ridges, the competitors seek out huge drops, technical passages and impossible gaps as they find - and build - their ideal line according to their own skills and preferences. 24. Had a close encounter with a puffie riding up Jonkershoek after a light rain. He was sunning himself in the middle of the trail, didn't even see him until i was a meter away. Fortunately saw him, stopped dead and he slithered into the thicket. Shat myself!
