  1. wow, thats a hectic one.....quite a scare..hope she survives .... eish
  2. Not really. There are different versions. 1.2 and 2.0 are pretty common across gadgets these days and may not necessarily be compatible' date=' particularly if you don't have software to pair the two gadgets. Your phone is Bluetooth 2.0 but the Nuvi 710 may well be 1.2 and not compatible. Admittedly though, Garmin could provide better service by actually providing a reason for any compatibility issues so that you can discover if your phone is compatible despite not being listed.[/quote'] I agree The point i was trying to make in an admittedly clumsy way, was that ALL the other Sony Ericsson makes, are supported except the P1i, so does that mean that the P1i is so special that the bluetooth is so incompatible not a dig at you
  3. I bought a Nuvi 710 main reason was to get the bluetooth and FM transmitter so I could talk and hear my call on my car system or on the unit itself. The feedback that the other caller hears is horendous ... on both the system itself and when it runs through my car audio system. The sms function does not work properly either.. Garmin reply: Good day, I went to the compatible Bluetooth phones you phone is not listed please see link http://www8.garmin.com/bluetooth/phones.jsp If you wish you can bring the unit to our office so we can test the unit Regards, Stephan Du Preez Technical Support Avnic Trading Pty Ltd stephan@avnic.co.za www.avnic.co.za www.garmin.co.za www.garmap.co.za Tel:086-1-GARMAP (427627) 086-1-GARMIN (427646) Fax: 086666TECH (8324) I know they offered for me to bring it in to be tested, but for R4000 plus, it is crazy :(:( I hear other 710 users ahve a similar problem with the SMS portion and the handsfree portion. My sony Ericsson P1i is bluetooth compatible, they have hundreds of other sony's listed, surely it is listed cos it is a newer fone ... bluetooth is bluetooth .... duh ... i left it at that cos i was just plain P1ssed off
  4. cyclesure jus quoted me R141 per month? expected them to be cheaper than Outsurance? to be honest my car claim a few years back was quick with outsurance i can always contact them, and their emails are always prompt.... the people answer my questions .... maybe that little extra is for their great service
  5. ok ... I poke to three consultants and the manager and they are adamant that if the bike is locked to the bike rack that it is covered ... for the record I have everything with them: Car - R 630.35 (Excess R2500) House Contents - R155.77 (R200 000) Bike - R132.68 (Excess R400) Comments? Weird? Advice hubbers? Saffa_G2008-06-30 03:46:42

  10. hey guys anyone ridden at night lately in Pretoria East? especially between Jacqueline Drive and Atterbury road and Old Farm on Hans strydom? none of the street lights are working there? I rode there last night around 7pm and was shocked at how dark it is? you guys think that there is really a problem with the lights or have the government decided to save electricity by turnign them off in different areas at different times? Could this be the reason? It's getting crazy out there. .... Saffa_G2008-06-30 00:47:16
