Does anyone know how this year's profile compares to last year's? Last year had two major climbs and was a thriller of note. It seems as though, from the profile I saw, there is only one major climb this year, is the total ascend any less?

Can anyone post the track here, please? I would love to see how much of the track we can ride on training weekends. I heard there was some serious climbing in the race.

Have always received excellent service from Epic Sports in Centurion, and excellent prices too. Hardly trust anyone else with my bike.

Someone once commented on whether I'm not worried about puting a carbon MTB frame on my Thule bike rack while transporting. The rack fits on the towbar and the bike hangs, on the one side, on the down tube and the other side, while fixed to the seat tube, rests on the seat stay (full sus). Is there any reason to be concerned about this?

That's maybe a very good point. Maybe you should not only try and carry more water, maybe you could also look at making yourself cooler while you ride? You will probably need less fluids that way. I often see people complaining that they sweat more than average and have to carry more water for that reason. Then they wear full finger gloves, buff under helmet, MTB shorts (I'm specifically speaking of MTB though). I also think that certain cycling shirts allow for better airflow than others. I have one First Ascend cycling shirt of which I'm sure feels thicker/less air permeable than my Anatomic (not saying the one is better than the other - at all). Having said that, my Anatomic is allot tighter than my First Ascend. Might just also be because of that. Maybe you could also try opining your shirt zip more to cool yourself down more. Otherwise, just cycle faster to get more airflow and stay cooler. Always seems to work on the Motorbike

For races, try refilling at water points. When you need fluids waiting a few extra secs at a water point is not that bad.

My XO is also doing this when the road becomes REALLY bumpy. So far this only happens going down Breedt's neck, but have happened about three or four times. Gearing the fd down to the smaller blade for the worst sections has helped so far, and luckily this downhill is steep enough so that being in the smaller blade doesn't really interfere. I will definitely try NINER_boy's suggestion.

I agree, if the Momsem is local it should be cheaper. Go for the Scott! just because of that.

Don't like the empty (black) bands on the sides. I prefer a 100% width setting. Who still has screens this narrow...? This is wasting too much space. End up having to scroll much more now. So, faster loading = slower reading Rest is cool.

Any idea when the 2012 Silverback range will be out? Most other brands have been out for some time now.

We do around 19-20km/h. But this also depends on the route you take. I'll be keen, but am busy this weekend, and next weekend is Christmas. I am off from next week for two weeks though.

I hope he's not putting up the results, he should be on an island sipping a cocktail. Clive, will you mind posting a notice on here when the results are up, then we don't have to check the site every now and then?
