Between cleaning my bike after Saturdays ride and loading the bike into my van for Sundays Mine Dump ride, I lost one of my front brake pads. My question is, which pads to buy, Sintered or Organic, and do you have to buy originals or could you purchase other brands of pads? Also, can I fit them myself or should I take it to my LBS? I thank you in advance for your suggestions.

In response to Sikes question. It is expensive subscribing to Mountain Biking. I rather wait a month and buy them at CNA which is far cheaper. A subscription costs you GBP77 which works out roughly to R1200 and stand the chance that it will get 'lost' in the post whereby if you purchase at CNA at R80 each that equates to R960 my humble opinion.shaunh2008-09-29 05:24:39

What a great ride. Started off cold and with a very slight drizzle, but ended off well. Thanks to all who organised it and I promise next time I won't ride so fast and leave you guys behind! HR, please lengthen the route a bit as I hardly worked up a sweat. Thanks to Dirtbreath for physically holding me back so the others could catch up. Thanks Dude!
