  2. Happy Belated Birthday Ronel Keep Safe!!!

  4. Oom, did you speak about me? Can they give me money?
  5. Steynja, check with your LBS what an Ultegra gruppo will cost. According to CWC their price is R5200 which is only R500 more than 105.
  6. BTW, does anyone know if the new Ultegra SL is available? I am really keen on getting me this gruppo.
  7. I see CWC sells the gruppo only for R4700 so R4600 sounds reasonable.
  8. Great!! Remember keep safe!!!!
  9. I am sure they will have it sorted by then.
  10. I think it plays a big role in preventing the helmet to dislodge from your head. Try this, put on your helmet and adjust the wheel at the back (or bring together). Now don't tie your chin strip and quickly hit your helmet in an upright direction off your head and see what happens.
  11. Ask yourself this question. Is it safer in a VW Citi Golf or mercedes C Class? I prefer my chin strap to be secure and not too tight and definately with a minimum of 1 finger gap. I often watch the pro's with their helmet strap dangling near their Adams Apple and shudder to think what will happen if they fall. Surely the helmet will be off their head by the time they hit the ground. Helmet choice is a personal one, I ride witha Met Stradivarius and a Bell Ghisalo, both very comfortable compared to my Giro Atmos (which is for sale btw)
  12. That is great to hear although I had no doubt that both parties will continue this great relationship. Maybe we will have the first African & South African podium finisher of the TDF in the not-too-distant future.
  13. Cannot agree more Wolfie. However, you cannot place total blame on the salesperson, although they should take the time & effort to learn a few things instead of standing around looking like lost souls, but blame the owners or managers. A salesperson will only portray the skills and or knowledge that have been taught or passed onto them. BTW Oom, are Raleigh frames not made by Dedacciai whom are based in Italy? or do they have a plant in Taiwan? BTW1 Oom, welcome back and look forward to meeting you in person soon.

  15. mtbcpt, no sceintific research, but according to the guys that ride the Lido Route where over 50 signs have been erected, have all reported a positive attitude change by drivers towards cyclists especially truck drivers.

    First Ride

Wolvie, once DAD pays the money over to Lenong Supa Signs then we can identify a route near centurion where we can erect 8 signs. If you have any ideas on the route please let me know.
  17. Not an english lesson, but just correcting a typo error. Should read 'compile'
  18. I have just rode my bike from my home in Glenvista to the Lido Hotel and back. The weather is great .This is my first ride on this road since Graham Cooper & Sybrandt van Dyk tragically lost their lives. It really was emotional to ride this road with all the signs I have managed to have erected on it. It is so different than when you are in your car. On the downside, there is a sign on the service road outside the Waterstone College that was 'bent' by a car. Having a good look at it, it has been damaged for a while. How many guys out there have actually rode right passed this sign and did not bother to try and straighten the pole or at least let the sign point in the right direction. Very sad indeed!!!
