  1. Nice carpet. Is it Persian?!! BTW, nice bike too!!!!!
  2. OK, we have sorted the bug. To make a donation of R30 sms 'donatecyclingetc' to 42266 The following is still in the process of being setup. In other words, NOT WORKING YET. Will advise as soon as its up & running. I have also set up another SMS, called an electronic wallet (cutting edge technology) where the amount donated can be specified by the user. This is currently being set up, but the EFT testing will only be complete by early next week. It is however a nice option to have as the networks don?t take almost half the revenue. The wording is:<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><?:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /> To donate an amount of your choice, SMS donatecyclingetc to 33003. And thirdly, we are busy setting up e-commerce facilities on the www.cyclingetc.co.za website, whereby users can make donations via credit card (and as soon as it?s available from the switching companies, via EFT?s too). PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ONLY THE R30 DONATION SMS IS CURRENTLY OPERATIONAL. tHE OTHER 2 TECHNOLOGIES WILL BE AVAILABLE SHORTLY. THANKS ONCE AGAIN TO KIWI & CO FOR SETTING THIS UP!!!!!

  5. Sorry mate, these pics don't count. You need to post pics with the obligatory couch in background!!!
  6. It seems the reason for this is that TCS has bought all Commondale stock!!!
  7. Yep, as with everything these days enforcement is a problem. These lights should be used during the day as well. As mentioned earlier, if we can start behaving like law abiding adults and not worry that the next person is breaking the law then half the battle is won. shaunh2007-11-06 04:24:04
  8. We really have to start a campaign "Be Seen & NOT hurt" and get fellow cyclists to wear these vests and put on those lights. Maybe we should make the light thing compulsory like we have with the helmets.
  9. It is really sad & I hope & pray that he/she recovers from this traumatic experience. I have come to realise that education and signage will not be enough to stop the carnage. We as cyclists will have to make ourselves highly visible whilst out riding on our roads. I have contacted distributors of tail lights and safety vests & belts and will be selling these at the Sign-Up booth at the 94.7 expo. We need to stop worrying what our friends think we look like with our red flashing lights & orange & lime green safety vests or belts. I am almost certain that the cyclists that have lost their lives to date, if they have had flashing red lights on their bikes and wearing high visibilty clothing that they would have been around today to support our cause. RATHER BE AN UNCOOL CYCLISTS THAN A COOL DEAD ONE!!!!! WE SHOULD BE 'SEEN & NOT HURT' Please guys, I appeal to you, wear high visibility clothing and get a rear light specifically designed for daytime use such as the Cateye TL-D1000. We have to become more responsible and take our own safety serious!!! and stop thinking that 'It will never happen to me'. Stop thinking of only YOU and start thinking of your family, friends and Loved ones. May the LORD keep you all safe out there !!!

  18. OK Guys, I have been in contact with Shaun at Sign-Up and I have been able to set up an SMS donation number for him through Cycling ETC. SMS donate cyclingetc to 33003 to contribute R30 http://www.cyclingetc.co.za will have more details soon for larger donations or corporate donations. They are in the process of creating a link that will be offered to cycle club websites and online stores etc for anyone that really does want to help making cycling safer. I have also arranged to have a banner printed for Shaun @ Sign-Up who will have a both at the 94.7 Expo this week. Support Shaun as he is actually doing something to make our rides safer and has put a heck of a lot of effort into this. An article about Sign-Up is in the current issue of Bicycling. http://www.sign-up.co.za
  19. Thanks Kiwi for doing your part in keeping your fellow cyclists safe out there. It is highly appreciated.
  20. Thanks Sean and congrats!!! Yup, it is really sad the way society is degrading so rapidly. We have to start with having a good look at ourselves and as mentioned previously let's start by doing the right thing. As Winston Churchill said, "Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference!"
  21. IanJ, you hit the nail on the head. We were all brought-up with respect to others as the main priority and things have been pretty good before we started acting differently. My question is this, why have we allowed ourselves to become the way we are? we don't need Police to baby sit us we are adults and need to start acting like adults. The other day I stopped next to a lady who's child who was maybe 3 or 4 was sitting in the front seat with no safety belt. I caught her attention and asked if she loves her child? She responded by asking why I wanted to know. I mentioned that if she did love her child he would be sitting in the back seat with his safety belt fastened. we'll... let me tell you that I have never heard such french in a very long time. We must stop blaiming our attitudes on the lack of policing (which is a problem) but start my looking at our conscience and by simply doing the right thing!!!
  22. Oom, it looks like you have to be dyslexic ...em sorrie....double jointed to ride a machine like that!!
  23. it looks like his PM box is giving you PMS!!!
