  1. FTGH. Camelbak trail vest. Well used but still has life left in it. No valve on the bladder because eugh. Pick up in Paarl preferred but I can ship at your cost and risk.
  2. To follow up. I placed an order at 5pm yesterday and it was shipped by 10am this morning. Can't fault that service.
  3. Sorted. Super helpful, problem resolved in minutes.
  4. Anyone know how to contact them? They only provide contact details for the stores they supply. I'm trying to make an online purchase but keep encountering an error. I previously used their site contact form but had no reply. Any help appreciated.
  5. I imported some spank 359 rims, worked out to R1000 each with shipping and taxes included. Chain reaction cycles sale.
  6. The reality is that I have access to 100's of km of superb trails, and it only costs me R1000/year. A mate and I were thinking of doing W2W this year but decided he will just fly down from Jhb for a weekend in the Cape and we will do 3 lekker rides on the Winelands trail network, from Wellington to Banhoek. His cost for 3 days will be R180 in trail fees and we can eat at the best wine farms around. We've invited a couple other mates to join. Wives on standby for emergencies.
  7. I'm in Paarl and have an internal cable routing tool that you are welcome to borrow. Otherwise I have been really impressed with the quality of work and value of Velosport.
  8. Here in Paarl I have on numerous occasions had an offending motorist apologise for their bad driving after I've hooted in fright/anger. Back in Natal I had my life threatened when I flashed someone that tried to drive me off the road.
  9. I imported a 1.5° headset from the UK from Works: https://www.workscomponents.co.uk. Quality is superb, was easy to install and there's no creaking whatsoever.
  10. Now that feelings are getting hurt, let's see how long before the overlords shut this thread down too.
  11. R60 now. But you can use that to get from Plaisir to Boschendal to Banhoek (and back). It's going to be interesting to see how they connect the two. There isnt really a natural line between them. Going to be one insanely fun trail though.
  12. Please at least have the decency to mark your post as NSFW 😍
  13. I rode the part of that Plaisir trail that's finished so far. It's sublime. It requires decent speed to clear all the jumps though. It's a good thing they're building fun sections like that, because they're turning the trails into highway by removing every rock within 100 yards of the trail 😕
  14. Perhaps I've missed it, but the big benefit of the virtual card is that you can cancel it every transaction if you wish. Want to sign up for a trial and don't want to be charged after? Use a virtual card then cancel it after you've signed up. You can then immediately create another virtual card and use as needed. With FNB at least, the virtual card works exactly as a physical card would, except you have the ability to create and cancel cards at will. It just allows an extra layer of security. You can use a virtual card and if you have any reason to suspect fraud/misuse etc, you can cancel it without your entire account being at risk and without needing to then get another physical card
  15. First time at Hoogekraal this morning.
  16. After reading this entire thread, the problem seems less about how things are done, than who it is done with. With people I don't know, we all sort ourselves out, especially if there are grossly different orders being placed. With mates it really doesn't matter how we do things because we care about each other and wouldn't try screw anyone over. We are also happy to pay more every now and again because the friendship is worth more than an extra R50. But for a random friend of a friend to expect me to pay for their booze- um, no.
  17. I am quite possibly wrong. I thought the question related to the brands, but the specific models may have differences. I don't know enough about La Pavoni.
  18. It would appear so. https://www.smeg.co.za/news/2019/09/smeg-announces-the-acquisition-of-la-pavoni.html

The answer depends on what and where you ride. If you're cruising along gravel roads then you likely don't need bigger range. If you frequently do rides with lots of steep climbs then it's nice having something to make it easier.
  20. Fantastic bike! I've got a Spider of similar vintage and it's a superb machine. Enjoy it!
  21. Riding in mud is about the worst thing you can do for a bike. As you said, it acts like sandpaper/grinding paste. I did an 18h event around 2001/2 in Hillcrest and it rained almost constantly for 18 hours. I won my category but had to use my R500 prize money to replace a rim that had worn through.
  22. POV with Laurie Greenland. That bottom section looks scary with huge jumps at huge speed.
  23. That was such a strange and tragic story.
  24. That's really disappointing! Hoping for a quick and complete recovery.
  25. The day is young, let's go!
