  1. Enjoy my caravan...sometimes do miss my tent, but thinking back of getting everything setup and then packing everything back time wise...then the caravan is so much easier...
  2. Saw a video of a light aircraft in KZN that ran out of fuel landed on the South Coast Highway (Presume it is the N2 South). Refuelled and then took off form the highway again. Any more info on this Incident?

    Who remembers?

When doing my military service in Potchefstroom...the hangout places were Valentino's, Impala Hotel(remember the guys said if you want to "sokkie" this is the place to be), Elgro Hotel (Dubbed "Vegkop" where most brawls would happen) and Bourbon Street. When at home during this time White Horse Inn would be the place of choice.
  4. If it is a software bug but there is a workaround procedure it seems that the crew did not follow the workaround procedure which should've eliminated the issue. It is easy to blame the system rather to admit that we did not follow the new procedure.
  5. On our drive out to Harties last week we stopped at the Aviators Restuarant. While waiting for our drinks spotted this plane. Decided to have a quick look at the plane. Can anyone identify the plane and some history:
  6. Na amper n jaar is hier weer lewe
  7. I know for small aricraft it is optional, but my thinking was around the recent Netcare Chopper crash.
  8. Just a quick question. Do helicopters also do have these blackboxes that records flight data and voice in order to establish the cause of the accident?
  9. I have been a member on many forums and quite a few years back my main interests was cars especially that I'm an Opel fan. The Opel owners club forum went through many platforms but eventually died because of non interest and people leaving, despite best efforts from the new site owners to keep it alive. There was also the CAR Magazine forum...and the same reason as stated here the forum was evntaully canned. A few guys started their own forum during that time and eventually all members of the old CAR forum joined the new forum and old one just died...the newly created CAR forum still exist today. There are still today heated debates GTi vs ... and also there are the non motoring section where about anything is discussed. There were also some heated debates and sometimes the moderators stepped in just to calm everything. I was cycling before I joined "The Hub SA" and I stumbled on the forum as I was searching for info. During this time my interest in cars slowly died as I moved on and found a new interest cycling when I went through the topics. I mainly read topics that I find interesting and mostly they are in Chit Chat or the members views on news etc. Only when I want something I scan the classifieds or if I do have something to sell. For me I have learnt to move on from negativity...also had some not so lekker replies IMO from something I posted that I felt that had nothing to do with the topic at hand but simply just ignored the comment and moved on. If the non cycling related topics will be canned then for me the bikehub will be a place just like the car forums that I occasionally visit.

There is another guy also 70 - Alewyn Vorster currently at 304 km's. They say age is mere a number if I look at these guys at the age of 70 riding this grueling race.

    Who remembers?

It is the same with McGuyver...the old series was also better IMO.
  15. LWB do you have any info regarding the Cheetah that took off from ORT yesterday? Just saw something from Aviation Central on Instagram and a short video.
  16. Thanks Andrew...popped into the shop Friday afternoon to get my bibs. My son also took the platinum bibs and just like me he is extrmely happy with his bibs. Well done Anatomic for a great product...local is lekker.
  17. These platinum bibs are very nice, also do have the ergonomics bib which is reaching end of life now. I prefer the platinums now. Just checked now no platinum bibs yet.
  18. Any platinum bibs? Bought one at the 947 Expo last year and would like some more of these bibs.
  19. Some of our friends flew down to Aus to watch the Grand Prix, this has been planned for more than a year with some savings etc. Although they will get a ticket refund it will just not be the same...
  20. Time for FLYSAFAIR to step into the gap Mango will leave open.
  21. I did not see my 100 DM bonus for achieving my goal last week, I did however play the board. I thought the numbers on the board were all the same it would just differ from person to person as to where the highest number will be placed.
  22. Thanks for all the replies. The reason for asking is that my wife and I decided this year to see if we can get to gold. As mentioned I already reached my fitnes goals and went for the screening tests which I recieved the full amounts of points. My wife prior to the screening tests was about on 27 000 points more or less. She only recieved a few points for tests within range. My next question is will she be still able to claim vitality points for the outstanding fitness points in order to reach our goal for gold?
  23. Question about the fitness assesment. I have already reached my fitness threshold of 30 000 points, can I still do the fitness assesment in order to reach gold or will it just count towards my Vitality goal?
  24. The 1/2 marathon race was a bit of a dissapointment this year, in order to change the route or adding more distance by just cutting grass in a field leaving you to ride on the "graspolle" is not fun.
