  1. Thanks for all the replies guys I really appreciate it. Seems like one can always rely on the hub for technical question answers
  2. Ok I saw a site while googling about using sand paper was just a little scared to go and rub away with sand paper? Have YOU had any success using it to remove scratches? And thank you for the reply and suggestion, got a really old broken phone to give it a shot on first lol
  3. Was wondering if anyone out there has had any sucess removing scratches from plasric screens like on cellphones, watches, bicycle computers etc? reson I'm asking is, I got a flat today turned the bike over on its handle bars and seat and fixed the tire, when I turned the bike back over realised that I never took my computer off, so scuffed the screen a little no deep scratches, but if light hits it a little funny it interferes with the display a little Have tried the following Toothpast Cd cleaner Brasso Any other suggestions of stuff that would work? Gonna go talk to the guys at the cellphone shop tomorow, but would still like to hear some other ideas for the hub if I have no luck Thanks for any help Brad
  4. yes dont make the mistake i did, trust me once you open up a shifter man what a mission to get it back together again, there shoud be a plastic screw which is quite big on the side of the shifter, just loosen that screw and click the shifter to the point where the cable would be the losest than by pushing on the cable that is vissible on the other side of the shifter the cable should pull through the shifter. just make sure you DON'T undo any screws on the top or bottom of the shifter unless A: you want to overhall the shifter or B: you have allot of time on your hands to fiddle everything back together again
  5. Have you taken a look at the merida bikes, they are also pretty good value for money bikes just putting it out there lol
  6. I'd say go to the bike shops and sit on each bike, its very important the bike feels comfortable sitting on it, otherwise its not going to be comfortable to ride long distances. Or at least take that into consideration
  7. ok i've taken a look on the two bikes websites, they are exactly the same except for the hydrolic breaks that the saturn comes with, so if you can get either bike for the same price then the silverback saturn is deffenetly without a doubt the better bike to buy component wise, but what id suggest is go to the bike shops get on each bike and see how it feels and then decide keeping that in mind as well. hope this has helped. but hear what the other guys here on the hub say as well
  8. if memory serves me correct the saturn has hydrolic brakes where the GT doesn't otherwise i think the drive train is the same, so id say go for the saturn, generally the silverbacks are a really good bang for your buck bike. what you actually need to do for us is go on the munufactures websites and get the spec break down of each of the bikes and post it on your thread if you want the best opinion
  9. Just out of interest how many KM will that be.?
  10. why dont you take a look in the for sale section here on the hub, you can get some pretty good prices on new and secondhand stuff, and about selling your old stuff that you've replaced, it all depends sometimes you sell it within 10min of placing the add if someone was looking for the part you selling and sometimes you sit with it for a month or two, is all a game of luck i'd say lol. and you dont neciserally (spelling?) have to go with xt paddals etc take a look around at what you may find sometimes you can find items that can be better than XT at a better price. try give these websites a go while looking for places to buy new stuff, their prices are pretty good. www.cwcycles.co.za www.buycycle.co.za http://shop.bicicletta.co.za
  11. I didn't mean to shoot you down or anything stew, I was just being lazy lol, and know what you mean about there being multiple threads on here about the same thing, next time I won't be so lazy a search lol :-)
  12. Aw that's not very nice lol, I was watching this topic coz I was also to lazy to go and look it up lol.:-P but then again I guess that's what you get for being lazy lol
  13. Have you tried strapping it up? With elastaplast to totally imobalize the ankle while you exercise? I found that was like one of the only things that helped me to exercise again after I tore a bunch of the legaments in my ankel. And just as a suggestion try get to a biokineticist ask them to show you how to strap it propper and give you a exercise programe you can do in recovery.
  14. Just out of interest where are you guys based? Asking because wanting to work out if one needs to add import duties to what it will eventually cost

    Decals

There is a guy on here called tyrone, do a shearch in the for sale section, for rock shox pimp it, or something along those lines, the ads are for shox stickers but I'm sure he does all decals
  16. i was wondering if anyone out there could tell me which each is better adapted to, i've been looking at the 96 and the 120 duel sus range, and i can no where find what each is specialzed for? in terms of xc, all mountain etc.
  17. ok cool, thanks for the links Flowta, will have a look at them.
  18. oh my bad, post has been corrected. thanks ghostface, you wouldn't ba able to tell me if you guys (dragonsport) have extra large (21 inch +) bikes in stock, because the merida, gt and scott suppliers don't have in and are waiting for their 2011 stock. and their is no way i'd be able to get a bike dirrectly from the suppliers and cut out the middle man, if you know what i mean lol
  19. question BUMP
  20. well, i've also been looking for a bike lately and must say look at the silverbacks if you looking to go for new out of the box, their prices are what seem the be the best for what you are getting when looking at components. from cycle factory you can get a new 2009 DEKOTA for 7K, or in the 2010 range you could get a silverback phoenix for 6k, give the bikes a look at, the cycle factory website is www.cyclefactory.co.za
  21. lol, guys i'd love to have one of those bikes either a anthem x1 or a silverback carbon soft tail, but like i said i've only got 15,000 and those cost bout double what i've got lol
  22. any other suggestions out there?
  23. well i agree totally with this post Chris and his team have it down to a fine art, really you guys deserve a 200% rating, i phoned wanting to find out about buying a bike a XL to be exact they didn't have and in the show room, and the guy helping me(cant remeber his name) took my number and name etc and said he'd call me back, just then i thought to myself oh boy here we go again, they not going to call back like all other bike shops, but man was i wrong, i got a phone call back in 10 min, they'd phoned all their bike suppliers for me to ask if they have stock, unfortunitally none of the suppliers have XL in stock at the moment they all waiting for their 2011 stock to come in, but still the service i got was amazing, an the efficiency really impressed me, got a feeling i'm going to be doing more bussiness with them even though im in PTA and they in the cape. . well done to Chris and the team, you guys deserve a pat on the back for th service you guys give.brad8902010-06-06 14:37:34
  24. oh ok now i see, thanks for the replies guys, i always wondered what they were for and now i know lol
