Have a look at the Ergofit vs BG fit thread here in Tech QA. Grab one of the numbers for technicians and book yourself a proper assesment and bike set up. I personally went to Dr. Swart but had to wait for an appointment. There are other really fitters around. There is a guy that travels between town and Northerns and comes highly recomended as well. Owen at Cyclelab Winelands at Somerest Mall also does Ergofit. Its R550 for an Ergomax fit but well worth the money to make sure you setup properly made the world of difference for me on roadbike especially over long distances. They will advise you as to next step. Explain to them your situation and they can work around it. Good luck
  4. Last day today for BT tour. Meerlust to Stellies and then Stellies to Khayalitsha.
  5. I'm going with Evans. His form in Dauphine was great. Wiggins has been on form the first part and too early this year. Yes he had a great Dauphine but can he keep that same form for 3 weeks. Evans will peak during 2nd half of tour. Wiggins will not be able to hold it till the end.
  6. Would love one of those helmets. Anyone got one? Used to love the Cinelli ones.
  7. From the Argus she wasnt taken out it was just someone that went off their line and unsettle her.

  9. The BT tour goes from Heidelberg to Hermanus today. A total of 60km will be covered. That road between Heidelberg and Riviersonderend is a rollercoaster that doesnt stop. Eina
  10. Actually she is. Yesterday was 1st day she got on tandem a few kms from end.
  11. Not at all hey. Started in Plet on Sunday and did half of the ride in the rain. Stopped outside Knysna to hand bikes over and then starts riding again even while its pouring down. Monday left George in the rain and did bulk of 55km in rain. Yesterday did 65km in total from and today another 50 or so. The ministers that are doing it as well have never really rode a bike and did proper training but they doing it. This is the first of more of these to come.
  12. Mr. Plato is rolling along on a really nice Jekyll. Its really a good initiative and shows leadership that these ministers and premier have tackled this tour. Conditions on first two days have been tough.
  13. Yes she is. Its in total over 200km. Today was from George to Mbay about 50km most of it in the rain. Stops are made along the way at community centres, schools and clinics.
  14. Well Dave Bellairs is in BT tour as well. Zille is reported to be doing Amashova this year as well. Its raining in George so Rule 9 is being enforced. Seems like an entry requirement for ministers to get into cabinet. Dan Plato, Donald Grant, ministers of housing, tourism, cultural affairs are there as well. Guys and girls from BEN doing good work. To date I think they have handed out over 10000 bikes. Whoop whoop.
  15. The tour got caught in the rain today as they approached Knysna. On entering Knysna it came down in buckets and the Premier just kept on going. Seems like not even rain is going to stop the Premier. Rule #9 of the Velominati says that if you ride in bad weather youre a bad ass.
  16. So, Premier Helen Zille and a few of her ministers in Western Cape, representatives from BEN (Bicycle Empowerment Network), Argus PnP Cycle tour different WC goverment departments are cycling from Plettenberg Bay to Cape Town over next few days. They started in Plett today and cycled all the way to Knysna. Along the way from today they will stop off in towns and handover 100 bicycles donated by BEN to schools, neighbourhood watch and community organisations and health workers. The aim is to get kids to school in areas where transport is not available, to help community organisations like neighbourhood watches to patrol and assist health workers who deliver chronic medications. This is the first tour of more to come in province. Follow on Twitter , @HZsBTcycletour. Tommorrow they will do more than 60km from George to Mosselbay. Although they will not cycle the full distance from Plett to Cpt they will cover almost 250km in total over next few days. The tour ends at new Khayalitsha hospital on Thursday.
  17. My 2c. Go to http://m.competitivecyclist.com/fit-calculator/ and enter your dimensions. You will need someone to help you with a tape measure and a spirit level. It shoud give you parameters for a frame size and top, head and seat tube, drop, setback, crank length. Then just check these with bike. You might just need to raise handlebars and fit a longer stem. Worst case is you could buy bike and sell it. I think you bought it already you just checking here to see if you made a mistake.
  18. Heavy! He must be 'Eina' this morning. Speedy recovery.
  19. Goodluck to the whole team. Congrats to Faizel Hendricks and Faizel Thomas of Muhammedeyah Club in Cape Town.
  20. What is this place you talk of, the Col du Tourmalet. Never heard of it. Shame on you for asking that question here. That is so unfair. Moderators I think he broke a rule as a newbie for asking that here. If there aint a rule can we make one up. Seriously hope you come right with some bicycles. Have an awesome trip. Are you going during the tour?
