  1. or maybe Not a tall Dangle?
  2. No official word but this is what I have gleaned from Garminconnect for last years race; Day1 73.58km 1639m ascent. Day2 76.09km 1773m Day3 50.2km 1277m This is not going to be easy!
  3. My apologies for the slight hijack but it would seem that there could be some takers from the 3 Towers entrants for this Sunday the 23rd. I have never done a breedts otherwise I would gladly organise a formal ride. Nonetheless my partner and I are definitely going anyone else keen to join?
  4. I did not do the race but I was cycling at the Monument on Saturday. looked like a good turnout. Just a word of advice to the organisers you might want to make helmets compulsory, the majority of the kids did not have helmets on. From my understanding of the law you could be held responsible if someone had got hurt on the ride. Nice initiative nonetheless
  5. Just heard that they are thinking of giving free entry to MTBs on Sunday's.
  6. If it's anything like what we had on the Sappi Mankele Challenge earlier this year it will make all the climbing worthwhile
  7. We're in for the race and your comments are settling some of the nerves here . My next task to stop my partner from downgrading us to the challenge! Just to help me with this how would this race compare to Sani2c in terms of climbing we don't mind the technical stuff but our climbing is our weak point. I guess that is the consequence of weighing more than 95kg per man. Look forward to seeing you guys there!
  8. Do any of you guys who did this race last year agree with these stats? I know the route has changed but what has been shown on the website seems to be wrong. For instance the very first climb on day one is common with the first climb of the Mankele race held earlier this year the profile on the website is 375m for that climb whereas my garmin shows 300m for the same climb. My expectations when entering this race was for total climbs to be between 1500 - 2000m climbing per day if the website profiles are correct I'm seriously underprepared for this race.
  9. @ Mr Nature are you sure the profiles shown on the website are correct? Race Day 1 71.3km Ascent 3063m Day 2 75.1km Ascent 2724m Day 3 71.2km Ascent 2907m Challenge Day 1 43.8km Ascent 1390m Day 2 50.7km Ascent 1856m Day 3 71.2km Ascent 2907m If they are I'm taking lights with me!
  10. Eish now I really feel sad that I missed this one
  11. While you're about it why not boycott the Tour de France and the UCI as well. It would appear that they are all part of the conspiracy. In theory this would mean you will not do any races sanctioned by our own CSA as they are aligned with UCI. I suspect that there are not too many innocent parties in this mess. The real question is are whether you are going to be selective in your little boycott or not.
  12. Yeah what cut off?
  13. Just saw the route profiles for the race and it shows about 3000m of climbing per day. That's gonna hurt bad
  14. @ Enticement take a look at the Extreme Lights thread you might learn something.
  15. What a different thread this is to the Cape Epic Battle Plan one! @ Enticement look and learn.
  16. That's not Wiggo it's Phineas Fogg!
  17. Yes! Pm me so that we exchange details.
  18. Just googled it and it looks scary. Not sure if this is her particular affliction as the X-rays did not show any fracture. Anyway we'll know for sure in the next couple of days.
  19. Dislocated elbow and seeing the discomfort you really don't want this. Till next time.
  20. Contador takes it the stage and the lead, Valverde could be second?
  21. Would have liked that Flymango but unfortunately I won't be there.
  22. Due to my dear wife's mishap on last weekends Trailseeker we've had to cancel our weekend. I have a 60 and a 30km entry available free gratis and vir niks drop me a PM if you're interested.
  23. I don't really like Contador but I love watching this. Gap to Purito is 2:43.
  24. I called him something else, which did not improve his mood.
  25. I'd like some input to the following scenario. I'm bombing downhill on a single track with a verge that is not rideable(at least safely) at say 35km/h and a faster rider comes up behind me. Now the only way to let the rider pass is to stop and pull off the track. I say to the rider that as soon as there is a chance I'll let him pass yet he gives me lip. Does etiquette suggest that I should simply stop and pull off the track? Would that not both slow him down even further and be dangerous to both of us?
