  1. Seems like Danny H is off to a new team for 2020. No more will he be on the big bike supermarket brand.
  2. On the technical side dropper posts have really caught on even when they break and don't work just replace it with another one that doesn't work. I suspect they have a way to go before their reliability is an after thought but there are some great value options that cost barely more than a lighteight carbon post so there's that. Well as an actual dropper post owner and user, I have found reliability to be far better than say, a tyre or a brake pad in the mud or even a rear derailleur after a tiny crash. I think these basic components have a way to go before reliability is resolved. Bwwahahahaha.
  3. There's a big fat debate on PB about whether the conditions counted as a "lottery" and whether the best rider won. How silly. The best rider on the day in those conditions won. That said, I think the organizers were a bit silly to introduce that section for this race knowing full well what would happen in the autumn rain. I enjoyed the race but I think it would have been a better spectacle if the track had followed the old line through the woods. They could have kept the new line for the summer of '21.
  4. Yep, my Windscribe is fine and as fast as local. You must log onto the vpn before opening RBTV or it will block you.I watched some of the xc in 1080 but reduced it to save data. 8.5 gigs left to watch the DH.
  5. Oh lame, looks like I may owe Hairy a ride at Conters,:-)
  6. https://www.uci.org/mountain-bike/events/uci-mountain-bike-world-championships-presented-by-mercedes-benz Qualis are on - if the snow prevents the race, these runs will count as finals, so a lot depends on how well you slide down the mountain today...
  7. This finally looks like a proper track, and way more proper than many others on the calendar... Get those VPN's warmed up!
  8. So you agree that your attempts to avoid the Tokai gnar are "lame"? :-)
  9. Okay, if she is within 1.5 seconds of the winner I'll come and ride Conters with you. If she isn't, you have to come a ride at Tokai. Deal?
  10. Yup, they were just using them for show, and pleasing the sponsors of course. I'm craving AXS.
  11. Like if someone offered you an AXS 180 mm dropper post?
  12. Ya but she will be klapped by Myriam and Tahnee and maybe Tracey at Worlds. She was the best on the day yesterday though. How good was Brook Mc D to manage 11th?
  13. Too much of a good thing is not good. I like my Rapide rear hub because it is quite loud, but not so loud that it drowns the sound of my tyres scrabbling for grip. A happy medium IMO.
  14. How funny was Bart getting hooked on "those wider bars" when commentating on ERs win in the short track. It lasted into the mens race. HAs win was masterful. Got ahead at just the right time, let the rest bunch up behind, which is counter intuitive and then won the sprint with Nino having to tango with Vader and Co. Worlds are going to be interesting. I enjoyed seeing how many riders were using dropper posts. The old school straight leg descending technique is starting to stand out. Anne Terpstra, PFP and Avancini made good use of theirs.
  15. Ooh, Pauline not happy with Evie in the sprint. Old guard feeling the heat :-)
  16. Windscribe VPN is free for 10 gigs per month and works a treat. Watched the worlds last year on RB TV with it.
  17. I suspect the so called "old guard" were taking it easy or at least were not as motivated as they would normally be. They have little to prove while the young guns had an opportunity to shine in a race that really means very little. Most will be focused on worlds and next years season already. Much as I liked the racing I also wonder why they even bothered to have this event.
  18. I like the two clown commentators - but they are good, not for their commentating abilities, more for comic relief. Like when they repeat what the other has said about 5 times. And how they wrote Nino off after half a lap because he to their expert eyes looked like he was suffering. At least Bart has stopped saying " the root trees are very slippery". I liked his woolly hat and mask combo too. The TDF commentators are just so much better. MTB does deserve better, but a laugh is a laugh I guess.
  19. Trails look really fun, nice and natural with #rockslabs.
  20. Got nothing against wimps and disabled people riding eBikes anywhere. :-)
  21. Anyone keeping tabs on the EWS PB Fantasy League. That Christofison oke is way out in front on the Bikehub League. Maes let me down big time, and none of us are going to win the bike.
  22. Traffic, no kidding. I don't think you watched all the videos. He did the mullet set up on the old and new bikes and did repeat runs on both. Danny Hart only features in one video These are his local tracks and he knows them really well so there's no question of him learning the track and going faster on one bike because of that. Back to the drawing board.
