  1. Ordered some roadie bracket covers and one of those weird roadie peaked caps - total about R300 and a bit. Was asked to pay R62 for vat and duty. Still waiting after about two weeks although an email from a courier claims by the 24th.
  2. That non-tech track provided some of the best racing we've ever been treated to. They need to dumb down all the other tracks and add 20 jumps 🙂 Rename it BMXCO ... Seriously though, great track and great efforts from the racers who displayed big engines and superb skills and style. Maybe need to call it DCXCO?
  3. I'd say complex features and speed make it a technical course.id love to know what your definition of technical is if this isn't.
  4. If you're just riding jeep track and decent gravel roads, a HT is just fine. If its a bit rougher you will need to get used to it but a fat rear tyre (2.4 on up) is a good idea. I run a 26" enduro HT at Tokai sometimes and have also fitted an insert at the rear (Nukeproof). This combo makes a big difference to the felt impacts of rough terrain,
  5. You sound like a candidate for a decent gravel bike. Either that or just buy a cheap road bike for the weekly commute/tar rides.
  6. Hey, i'm also old, and according to my son, fat, although i disagree with the latter.
  7. You just do it on the job. Take stuff apart and try put it back together. If you can't you ask someone who can and after breaking things and stripping threads you'll eventually learn what not to do. Just don't start on your Epic 8 S works. Same applies to cars. 😉
  8. I so want to like nerdy Ric, but he's just so irritating and his attempts to Warnerize his commentary is laughable. I'd be happy with Olli and Bart and a guest every now and then...
  9. Yes, I'm happy with the service even without an app BUT, look at how GCN + was canned. Just now Supersport make WBD an offer they can't refuse and SA gets geo blocked on the Staylive stream.
  10. I used Chromecast from a laptop to Xaiomi MiBox worked pretty well. Buffering was minimal.
  11. That's the same as last year. There is a streaming service for R115 per month for SA and many other countries so you can watch the elites and DH. It works fine but only on a computer. No smart TV app.
  12. This has just been announced by the UCI as a streaming option in SA and New Zealand. I haven't looked at the pricing yet... Checked - its R115 pm at current exchange rate. Ive signed up monthly. Not sure how it will work on my media player. https://app.staylive.io/cycling/ucimtbworldseries
  13. An admirably mature attitude on display. Well done!
  14. I second the - more modern geo and sizing vs older with fancy components - like what Bob said. The very modern slacker than 64deg enduro bikes have little place in SA terrain. Longer is also not always better from a trail riding point of view and bigger bikes don't corner was well or easily as slightly shorter bikes. That said, you'd get used to anything and adapt to whatever you get within reason.
  15. Eish, I'm looking for 5600 hoods right now. Ordered some knockoff on Temu, but who knows when and if they'll arrive...
  16. I drive through there regularly and wander around the area near the SAPS sometimes for work. No issues. I have commuted down min road Wynberg a couple of times to fetch my car and the biggest issues were the taxis. Outside rush hour I.e early on a Sunday morning is when the lowlifes come out I suspect...
  17. That's what I always said until a rock smacked my valve and I could not undo it without pliers. Thats once in maybe 25 years though. I still ride without caps 🙂
  18. Nah, I do gravel on my Steel HT. I did the PA to the Top and back on Saturday though.
  19. As more and more of SA's roads turn to gravel, so the demand for the bikes increases. Gravel is the new road?
  20. Thanks. Spent the Easter weekend there and loved it. The dry river beds have some potential for technical riding I think...
