  2. Lets see how Gwinny picks himself up for Snowshoe. From a vid I saw it looks like quite a decent track. Always good to have a new venue in the mix.
  3. That is just because those Commies are so dirt cheap... Nope, I kid, I'd also buy one if I had the desire and cash for a DH bike.
  4. Come on they practically invented the dual suspension bike man. Give some credit
  5. I watched Rob and Claudio on RB TV - they were also watching on a TV from RB's plane hangar. Rob got a few names wrong but generally it was up to scratch.
  6. Its that patented FSR suspension and Ohlins dampers smoothing it all out. Spaz FTW. Pity their shop guy looked at me like I was speaking alien when I asked for pricing on roval rims to replace my trashed versions. "Gotta phone H O" he said.
  7. Coverage was pretty poor. Donne by local broadcaster not RB. There were no cameras for quite a distance after the start until the first or second fast straight. That said, they did have some good coverage in the tech woods and captured the crashes there. The last 7 or so riders from Greg onwards was the cherry on the top. Those boys really let it hang out...
  8. Try Windscribe for a VPN go around. I loaded it on my PC yesterday and it worked great for the XC. 10gig PM free. They had Jose Hermida commentating with Warner. Check Ben Deakins latest video for a bit of Theo practsing a massive Minnaar gap and the drop where Brook and Wilson crashed. You can damage your spine compressing it from above ot below or hitting your back. A back protector works for the latter not the former. Hope Brook pulls through without any spinal column damage.
  9. Great track - love the variation between high speed stuff and the super roff forest sections...
  10. Well, Clint's jumping on my wheel did make it almost straight so I can ride the thing. Hasn't stopped me wanting proper strong wheels however...
  11. https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/wtb-stp-i-29-mtb-rim/rp-prod151670 Heavy but strong looking at R300 per rim...
  12. I need new wheels. I had a skull jarring off this Sunday. Luckily my equipment took more strain than I did. 1 x helmet poked and a front wheel turned taco shape. The back wheel is just trashed from normal abuse but also looked the worse for wear after the bike flew a few meters down the track. My bike guy tells me he had to jump on the front wheel to get it a bit straighter... Normally this would just mean new rims but with a 24 spoke count up front and 28 out back, I think that is part of the problem.... I29 rims? Novatec/Rapide Hubs? Suggestions?
  13. Surprised this embarrassing proof that e-bikes don't belong on an MX track either, didn't make it to this thread...
  14. Yep, quite a few changes actually - side knobs very different too.
  15. I see from a review of the new Spaz Enduro, that they have subtly redesigned the Butcher. The center knobs are now offset alternately thus reducing the gap of doom between them and the edge knobs. So we were right...
  16. I am, but I think its too soon to tell if it will hold up well.
  17. You'll find the Aggressor lighter and faster rolling with enough side knobs for most conditions. I think its all you need for local conditions. My theory on tyres like the MM are that they are excellent on the right bike eg a slack machine that sags a lot and leaves the front scrabbling for grip. It worked great on my old Enduro but was way too much on my HT. So, if your riding style and bike set up leans towards a more over the bars riding style, i.e weight on the front contact patch, fit a less aggro front tyre...
  18. I watched a bit of the replay of the CO race. Tracey will have to up her game to stay ahead of Vali in the Worlds. Troy was super fast - 5 wins in 5 years and on the proper wheel size.
  19. Agreed. If i win the lotto between now and then i'm up scaling to eBike class.
  20. Took my Aggressor F and R equipped bike for its first proper ride at Tokai yesterday. No issues either with the casing out back or overall grip despite a bit of moisture about. The back tyre handled corners better than my prone to burping Butcher. I'm looking forward to getting some more trail time as summer kicks in...
  21. Cant say I'm a massive fan of the look. Its lost its distinctive frame shape. Its also become even less of a bike for SA conditions by the sound of it. More DH than ever, and bearing in mind how my 2018 version feels I can just imagine...
