  1. I'm tempted to do what Hairy suggested - stick the 180 fork and 27.5 wheel off my Enduro on my 26er HT.
  2. So basically nobody on the Hub has one. :-)
  3. I loved it. No complaints watching a race on a proper track like this. LG was next level. Made the rest look pedestrian.
  4. What a lovely tech track. Almost too much good stuff to cover in one video... Will be interesting to see if Pierron and Minnaar can stay ahead of the pack when everyone is pushing it. My guess is the time training results will mean nothing.
  5. I have rather floppy ankles i.e I roll over my ankles easily but luckily this flexibility doesn't translate into serious injuries and might actually prevent them. That said, I have hurt my ankles doing jumps and drops where the landings are hard. One of my earlier bikes blew through its travel all too easily (or maybe my set up was wrong) My current big bike is far cushier. Hard to see from the videos how hard the impacts were when Rachel hurt herself, but perhaps her bike was set up too soft as it was rather early in the practice session. Still a weird one though. In which sports do people injure their Chilies tendon the most I wonder?
  6. I am sure I'd get used to and enjoy a 29er enduro bike, but this is coming from a guy who finds his 650B Enduro a monster truck and loves the nippy, quick steering and lively feel of his 26er HT from time to time. I doubt that adding a 29er wheel to the Enduro would make it better except perhaps in the steepest high speed trail situations. Would not stop me trying it if money was no object of course. :-)
  7. I saw that too. That was the save of the year and possibly the fastest one ever.
  8. Saw an article on my google news feed this morning about two Italians who fled after other racers at a road event set the police on them as they were suspected of secretly riding electric road bikes in the event.
  9. That's so ageist, but you make a good point about the added speed, on level and uphills that an eBike enables. Downhill, it should not make much difference but will enable you to arrive at a corner or drop after a flat section a bit quicker. What you should have said is that anybody who is not technically proficient is more likely to come short on an eBike, 25 year old's included. :-)
  10. That looks like a proper bike, with proper wheels :-)
  11. DH was amazing - last two have really been world class and run down to the wire. Loved the variation with this track compared to Andorra and Val di sole. I think its amazing Greg is still up there in the top ten considering the number of much younger fast guys there are now. The Mega was on this weekend. Some great GoPro edits from various competitors out there. Kilian Bron followed up his Mountain of Hell win with a second place in the Mega.
  12. and he's qualified - no 34 so far.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGLrvThTnt4&t=1s More great raw footage. This track has some tricky stuff on it... And Cathro again
  14. I like AN's commentary but he does sometimes come across a bit flat and monotonous. What really needs to happen is that RB lighten up. install a beer tap in the commentary booth and let a well oiled Warner loose with a guest presenter every race ( there is never a shortage of injured rider/experts to handle the job). Imagine how entertaining that would be????
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XR_gkBuERlw You gotta love the Alps in summer.... This track is interesting - old school but tricky and very fast. Should be better than watching the Crankworx version because RB will have more cameras. Lots of nerve required to hit those flat grassy corners as fast as possible. Cant wait.
  16. Hey, your'e almost in the top 10. If you stick Aaron "Dirt Nap" Gwin in your team you're sure to get there.
  17. I'm a hater, but like so many haters, I have a secret lust for what I despise, namely a big burly (manly? :-)) enduro bike with a motor to allow me to shuttle up the hill 3x as many times as I can under my own power so I can enjoy the downs...
  18. As I said a rumour. i think its probably just a few weeks delay in making it to the deep South, so probably the same one you're thinking of.
  19. Heard a rumour about an injury to a rider on the Hoogies Cobra this weekend, needing a heli evac? Anyone have any details/confirmation?
  20. That was the DH race of the year, perhaps even the last 5 years. I'm starting to feel sorry for AG, which means he must be having a really bad time of it. Greg was a bit disappointing. His super controlled approach works sometimes, but as LV, TB and Super Bruni showed, you have to get onto the edge and risk it on a track like this...
  21. https://www.uci.org/mountain-bike/events/mercedes-benz-uci-mountain-bike-world-cup Look at Gwins position... will he even qualify, or is he protected? Clearly a glitch on the UCI site - that was probably time training. They start at 2 pm. Whew.
  22. Do you think it will make Marcello and his merry band any faster? You know 29 and all... Also a 29 Reign in the pipe apparently.
  23. Love it. Would be even better with guys racing from the side with FPV goggles.
