Yes, I agree there, like yesterday we caught Plus 1 before the last corner...and then they get in the way....so I didn't even bother sprinting as I don't want to sacrifice my bike cause of crashing into slow people. I think they must add a rule, when you get caught and you know you won't attempt the sprint, keep as far to the left as possible rather than everyone free wheeling in the middle down the straight.... Otherwise...another awesome night
  2. I saw you at the weekend race, you still had a bike rack on?
  3. Lol, just remember the headwind back where you might want a 'vettie' as cover working in the front.
  4. Why don't we start to rob them...panzies! I wish Kayamandi can just burn down and leave us cyclist in peace.

Did you get an sms to say it was cancelled? I have not received an sms so I am sure it is on.
  6. you keeping it black? As now it looks like a cheap chinese frame....just my opinion...
  7. Haha! Was waiting for that...however cycle lab is mainly overpriced as well....
  8. I will rather just get a 2nd hand MTB wheelset for like R800, sometimes it includes a casette.
  9. I assume the Masters got a pensioners discount? Elites, Junior Men R990 (includes your 6 race entry fees) Sub Vets R990 (includes your 6 race entry fees) Vets & Racing Women R990 (includes your 6 race entry fees) Masters & SWIFT Women R920 (Includes your 6 race entry fees)
  10. name and shame? then you will warn us all against him
  11. Do you have any more specs of the circuit?
  12. I would say it is a bit of both, but training mainly, the wheels felt fantastic, they are amazingly stiff, no flex at all! I think the wind coming from all directions as you turn defenitely made it interesting. This is my first time I raced it, and I really enjoyed it, it was very hard but the rolling hills made it awesome. defenitely one of the most challenging courses I ever ridden. Thanks, havn't seen you cycling for a while?
  13. 25th in Elites, average just under 39km/h....Im stoked with my result...
  14. until we receive a mail to say...'Sorry there was a problem with the timing, please redo the race...' haha
  15. It is still a silverback....so i'd rather pay more and get a reputable brand. I love my Giant,
  16. Why you on crutches?

  18. Now that you mention that....lol...not sure, but I just can't find myself to trust any mechanic...but I normally shop around when I want to buy something as I go for the best deal...
  19. I always get good discount there.....but i only have one mechanic who EVER works on my bike and that is Lourens Calitz @ Cycle Centre in Edward str, he is a master wheelbuilder and really good!

  23. Fantastic race for Elites...however I just want to thank that very smart motorcycle marshall who stopped dead in the line of cyclist on lap 1 in the last 7km stretch while we were busy guttering causing about 7 cyclist to crash, why on earth would you just stop in the middle while we cycling....stupid chop! Otherwise very good first race!
  24. I do most my sessions on an IDT, and those who know me will agree that my performance has improved tremendously.... but....this will only be if you have a proper setup. I use the Tacx Flow, was about R4000, then I also have an set program from the Science to Sport which I cycle on doing my training accordingly. What helps is you don't run out of climbs, etc...so you can mantain the pace as the program says due to the tacx have the digital screen to adjust tension by a click of a button showing the gradient of the climb and it is also showing my watt output, cadence, HR, etc...keep track of an ODO as well. Thus I will defenitely recommend it as a base and even though I get bored, having a set program times goes by fast....weekends I still go out on the roads, but besides that it was money well spent.
