  1. Nice one Spat. Enjoy the weekend ride.
  2. Slm, Any of my muslim brothers training during the Fast. What is working for you? And how are you finding it. I have taken the first 2 weeks off the bike totally. Started doing some light core exercises in morning before Sehri. This week I got back on bike. Did 1 hr easy ride in morning after Sehri and 1 hr easy ride before Iftar. Managed quite well considering. Did not feel thirsty etc. The day after I felt very tired though. Will try a 1.5hr ride on sat morning after Sehri. Will keep hr 55-65% (low intensity)
  3. For those of you thinking that frying your eggs in butter will provide same benefits.... it won't. Best way is to boil them.
  4. Cycling is not about quick results, it is going to take time. Build a solid base. Focus on training for the long term. Keep the balance between enjoyment and disciplined training efforts.
  5. Neat trick
  6. If you give me a 100 bucks for transport, I will come and fetch it, don't worry about labour
  7. Hi, Any of you running Nokon cables or Token Tiramic Jockey Wheels?
  8. My Base training starts now, for about 12 weeks, then a few weeks Build Phase till August. Will try and maintain an average 11hrs riding per week, comprising 2 x 3 hr rides weekends Z1, 2 x 1 hr gym sessions, 1-2 x 2 hr rides in week (1 off tempo eventually becoming intervals and 1 off z1).
  9. I will pass on this one. I hope you guys enjoy.
  10. Good job by our police.
  11. You were charged and investigated, EXACTLY what I am saying should happen here, not hung in the square.
  12. So let's respect Grandma's rights before lynching her for not wearing her spectacles.
  13. The hit and run is inexcusable. And do not for one minute think I am defending the driver. I am not. I am just not ready to hang him / her in the square quite yet (based on the info so far available). Was the cyclist wearing visible clothes? Did he / she have a light? Was he/she perhaps riding in the middle of the road? Was the driver perhaps a 60 yr old grandma, that acted in shock, rushed home to get her son/daughter to accompany her back to the scene or police station?
  14. I feel sympathy for the person that has died and his / her family. Some of you want to go and hang the driver in the square, others are referring to idiot drivers, and other swearing going on. Are you okes for real? What info in this thread so far indicates the driver is at fault. The immature, mob behaviour, and inciteful language you are using is PATHETIC !!!
  15. If you have BB30, see Park Tools for tools needed to remove, and fit bearings.
  16. Hi, I look forward to joining you guys. Please be more specific of where the start will be.
  17. Hahaha.... my wife made me put it back down ...she said SIES ..surely you not gonna use that....
  18. mmmmmmmm ...... true Think I will wait till summer, CRC may have them on sale then less 30-40%. Not gonna get much coverage out of them (short kit) this winter anyways. Plus more time for me to show the wife how worn my current ones are
  19. The 2011 Liquigas kit does appeal to me more than last years, since there is less neon green. It is moerse expensive from the team store. And that winter jersey 2010 does look awesome. I did plan on getting some base layers for winter, maybe change of plan. Then the wife is gonna look at me skeel again But then I can wear my Liquigas jersey when Basso wins TDF..... Damn..... I need to decide ???????
  20. This will be balanced in medium to strong headwind conditions, so perfect setup for the Cape.
  21. Yeah !!!! I originally had it the wrong way round... Your suggestion much better
  22. All the mainstream papers providing coaching / training methods are very definative when discussing the inclusion of rest in a training plan. I have only been training consistently for 18mnths now, had 3 weeks off in Aug 2010, 2 weeks Dec 2010, and looking forward to 2 weeks after the Argus. I have found those 'off' periods where I don't touch the bike at all, to be extremely beneficial. Over and above the body's adaption process, overload and rest, more significant for me was the psychological cleansing and rejuvenation that takes place. I am thinking of trying the same process in my marriage.....

    23c VS 25c

I ride both 25 and 23 Gatorskin. 25's were ok. Very uncool looking. Comfortable, gave me lots of km, using the one now (after a year) solely on the indoor trainer. Last year I was using it on indoor trainer and road, gave me no problem. Did not notice weight or rolling resistance to be an issue (was not on my race bike) Replaced this year with 23. Looks more the part. Just as good as the 25's
