Big ups to Skidd, I remember when you started the whole thing/this thread and everyone was a bit sceptical. Critcal Mass/Moonlight Mass is absolutely awesome; if anything gets more people on bikes, this will.

When I went to report my bike stolen, they wanted the original receipt of purchase before opened a docket ... if you're buying second-hand and don't have one (and I think they want the store receipt), it seems you're not going to have any luck getting a case number. I presume the guy who reported it stolen has one? Because frankly, only reporting it in August seems incredibly fishy to me. And if you've been in contact with the guy you bought it from, he should do the gentlemanly thing and return the money. Maybe he bought it from the customer who says it was stolen?

I speak for myself again, not being familiar with newer hubs. You just clean it out with degreaser (i'm old-fashioned, as you know by now - paraffin, and you can re-use it after straining through a coffee filter paper), a whole lotta paper towels, and cotton buds. I love a dead-quiet hub. Just the shish of tyres on the road, and the ability to creep up and wheelsuck other riders.

It was at the Argus Expo too - and somewhere here on the Hub. About R11 000 or R12 000. Very nice - but a bit of a cheat perhaps?

Ha! I'm not that much of a noob. Everyone sees me with a pad, the next thing I'm secretary of some group ... (I'll see what I can do. Maybe hide at the back while I do it.) But that doesn't mean all the other Hubbers shouldn't attend. Speak! Or forever hold your piece peace

If you can afford the better stuff, get it. It's not like it's a groupset or something that over-capitalises the bike.
