  1. I know it may be a long shot... I have a Severin Conical Burr grinder that has handled every bean I throw at it for a couple of years. It suddenly stopped to extract the beans from the burrs. The motor turns but you can hear it is straining. I cleaned it, made sure the extraction chute is clear, but still no luck. There may be a bean stuck somewhere, but I can't figure out how to open the grinder up. Any clues? It is far out of it's warranty and I have no idea who works on these and if it is even worth the cost. Thanks in advance! https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/collections/coffee-grinders/products/severin-conical-burr-electric-coffee-grinder?gclid=CjwKCAjwqML6BRAHEiwAdquMnVFYgScg9_oAxR1ExIiwWuqWU82q7Ry0M5vybQhW3u35nKfea4RPsBoCRBYQAvD_BwE
  2. Can I pretty please get a race with my coke in 2020?

  5. Great to hear, thanks a lot.
  6. Thanks a lot for the feedback! I sorted my saddle out late last year (also on a phenom now) and now I am having a serious look at decent bibs - looks like Assos is the way to go.
  7. Rather than creating a new thread, I will post and ask here: I currently have a Pearl IzumI bib that cost just over 1k. I am looking at getting either the Assos T Mille S7 (I see Assos is loved on the forum!) or the Ciovita Supremo bib (recommended by a friend). Two questions: 1. Between the two, which one would you recommend, especially regarding comfort and durability? 2. Is the jump in price worth the jump in cost (from 1K for another one of my current bibs to nearly 3)? Cheers!
  8. Because the wheels go round and round?
  9. Sjo, it's beautiful!
  10. Hence the comic sans. I think my head will explode at those altitudes!
  11. It is easier at altitude because the wind resistance is less

  13. It could have been a very hard fall if it was not for the 3 jerseys cushioning the landing!
  14. And on the spur of the moment this has become a lekker Friday thread
  15. I measured from the centre point of the old saddle and then positioned the Force saddle's centerpoint to be at the same point. It worked well for me - maybe someone else has better insight?
  16. I second this whole heartedly! I got excited when I saw there were new posts in this thread, was looking forward to some drool worthy pics. What a disappointment!
  17. Thanks for sharing your fantastic photos!
  18. Keep the grinder and machine and sell the house? :-) Or build a shelf. I don't think you will enjoy a super-automatic as much if you like the whole process of making espresso with the combo you have.

  20. I have had no issues with my Severin. Excellent burr grinder for the price. I usually make French Press, Aeropress or pour over Coffee. It works well with my cheapy espresso machine, but I also think you will need something that can grind a bit finer if espresso is your thing.
  21. https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/blogs/how-to-make-great-coffee/17849668-an-aeropress-recipe-for-two This recipe from CCB works well for 2 cups. you don't really need all the weighing and measuring as the Aeropress is very forgiving. But I won't bother to try and make for more than 2 people. As madbradd said, it can be quite intensive.
  22. Nice ride this morning on the farms close to Komati, bordering the Kruger National Park.
  23. Thanks, BenReaper. I enjoy my 26er with bar-ends (Am I even allowed to use the b-word on Bikehub?!) a lot and at this moment it is not the bike holding me back :-)
  24. Hi everyone, I am Gerrie and I am living in the lovely (and warm!) Komatipoort in Mpumalanga. I have been lurking on the forums for a while and decided to finally sign up. I am still rocking a GT Avalanche 26er HT. I am looking forward to be part of the forum. Cheers!
