  1. You are onto something. Admin also want us to stop pestering them about comments on the classifieds. (Comic Sans)
  2. Maybe have a look around in the classifieds. This is the first one that popped up: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/rear-derailleurs/476783/shimano-xt-rear-deraileur-m786 Hope you get it sorted soon!
  3. South African snakes don't hibernate, they only become a lot less active. Chances are that you will still come across snakes in winter. They brumate - https://www.africansnakebiteinstitute.com/articles/snakes-and-hibernation/ (Not trying to pass myself as an expert, but when we moved to the Lowveld I had to quickly learn a lot about snakes, as we regularly have snakes in/outside our yard.)
  4. Are they adding comments to the classifieds? I hope the maintenance goes smoothly, thanks for the heads up!
  5. I think there is a couple of threads about insurance that you can search. I insured my mtb with my house insurance and specified it. The cost was a lot cheaper than insuring the bike on its own. Just make sure about the fine print regarding coverage for the different examples you mentioned. A good broker should be able to help a lot.
  6. Here you go https://tinyurl.com/BikeHUB-Fantasy
  7. I don't know who is more excited that you are back on your bike - you or the Hub that can enjoy your excellent pics!
  8. A crisp morning in the Slowveld
  9. Looks like Frosty is guarding against overtraining
  10. I got the Mirage bib. After the comments on the Vye thread I went a size larger and it looks like it was the correct decision. Must say the box is a nice touch - but pizza would be even better :-)
  11. New bib day! Looking forward to try it out. Quality and packaging look top notch.
  12. I had a set of Onza Canis tyres that lasted well over 5000 km without any issues. When I wanted to replace them there was no stock available (I now know why). Currently have Schalbe Rocket Rons on my bike, but I see they won't last nearly as long. Any recommendations on XC tyres that can give similar mileage to the Onzas? I mostly ride dirt roads with some (not a lot) technical sections thrown in. TIA
  13. Nothing of value to add from my side, but Brandsen is a fitting surname for a firefighter!
  14. Thanks for all the info in this thread! It helped me to make up my mind. I ordered a vye bibshort today - looking forward to use it.
  15. That is a nice shot and shot!
  16. New saddle day. My Phenom Comp broke a rail and I had to replace it. With all the rain here I didn't see a pothole and went straight through it. Replaced it with a new Phenom. Luckily my back wheel is still fine (for now). While I was there I bought new cleats and gloves. Hopefully I am set for a while.
  17. Hasn't happened to me while riding/stoping. I had some pairing issues with my HRM before, but before rides, not during.
  18. Is there a way to give auto likes to all of 'Dale's pictures? Stunning pic as always
  19. I have the Lezyne Macro. Bulletproof for more than a year and with amazing battery life (around 20 hours). A Lezyne unit is a no-brainer for me.
  20. Like a typical internet user I didn't read the whole thread, only a couple of pages. Would the closing of the off-topic section not lead to more threads being derailed? Speaking of, Any of you struggling to get your money back from the guy working on the oil rig?
  21. I really enjoyed this thread a lot! Thanks for all the insight from people that have ridden the Munga. Nothing of value to add from my side, only: Wow, hats off to the riders.
  22. Francis got his gearing right :-) Everesting on a BMX https://youtu.be/3EsyyvfzU7U
  23. Unfortunately the grinder is no more - couldn't open it up completely, but enough to see that the motor is damaged (judged by the black smoke sticking to the insides of the machine. I had it for 5+ years and need to replace it as my manual burr grinder is nice to use once in a while, but not every time we drink coffee. I see the Severin has nearly doubled in price since I bought one. I use the grinder mostly for French Press, Aeropress and pour over. Any recommendations for a similar burr grinder? The Melitta Molino looks quite good at an attractive price point. Does anyone here have one? Cheers!
  24. A lekker afternoon in the Slowveld
  25. Thanks a lot @the nerd! Yes, that is the exact model. My biggest issue is trying to figure out how to open it up. That way I can see if it is an easy fix or if the motor is toast.
