  1. Iron, good approach I guess to make sure of the facts but I would find it difficult for them to explain PAYING for something that says "SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE" clearly on the packaging .......
  2. Customer care: customerservice@assos.com
  3. Ok you guys will know me as the one supporting mostly LBS's but in this case that's fraud/theft! Nail their asses I say. Publish which shop and I would anyways mail the Assos guys Internationally, in fact if you don't want to I will I agree with Mux that the shop is as much to blame as J&J if they paid for it and are charging the customer, if they weren't charged by J&J and are just charging they are greedy tjops and should be named and shamed and (not or) reported to the Assos top dogs!
  4. Now maybe I am just a tjop but I am not sure I want gearbox or motorbike oil in my beautiful fork I paid many thousands or rand for. I would prefer that the correct thing is used B) Not saying it won't 'work' but ja just my personal preference
  5. Tim, I did it 5 times and only once was it dry for all 4 days .......
  6. Does BigBen still come here?
  7. Zeps

    Bar Ends

No confusion dude, it looks stoopid and people will point and laugh, period B)
  8. I have ridden with both Specialized Captain/Fastrack combo and just with Crossmarks (done SabieX 5 times). when it's really muddy there it probably doesn't matter what you have as long as it's not Kenda Karma's I suppose but I am sure many will tell you of the 'perfect' tyre .....
  9. Thanks for going to the trouble to list these guys! I am sure I am not the only person that they are useful to!
  10. Does anyone have a checklist to use when doing a full service on an MTB perhaps with tips on adjusting etc. per item where necessary? Just wondering as it would be nice to be able to tick off each thing as you go ...... to ensure that you don't forget anything. Interesting I have never seen such a thing (like you show you when they have serviced your car ...) at a bike shop!
  11. Yip must agree rather spend it on something worthwhile like a power balance band, now that'll increase your speed
  12. There goes my plan to go faster at 94.7 MTB - might as well cancel that order
  13. Having said that, Dangle says that course is gay so maybe it wasn't such a good test
  14. I use Joe's with Maxxis Crossmarks all the time, never had a problem but ja maybe I just 'do it' right?
  15. Finally got round to doing the MTB Guru suggested modification to my Garmin 305 that was out of warranty and it is working an absolute charm so far. Rode the Rietvlei XC track with it twice, those who know that course will know that it is a good test ..... Before this it switched off every time I rode there. If you have one that is troubling you I suggest go ahead and do it!
  16. How much was it?
  17. I do everything myself except fork servicing
  18. I guess finding out how many married couples (can't be that many?) did the event then find the 2 that are not talking to each other since then?
  19. I have used one of those BBB extenders successfully but I am not some mean highly technical downhill rider ..... Done SabieX with a bike that has one of those no problem. Not the most elegant thing but no one sees it anyway ....
  20. And what would 'the shock' happen to be make/model ..... just might be useful
  21. Sure Rod, will do that.
  22. I DID IT! I did the 'repair' as suggested on the Interwebs (MTBGuru). Pretty easy so lets see how it goes. Only ridden with it once so far and it was not too technical. Will trap the Rietvlei XC route tonight where it always switched off and see how it goes!
  23. Sorry dude next time I will wear a helmet
  24. Some time in the early 90's when races were often held from the Lynwood drive in, arrived at the Coke table full of smiles after riding a PB and promptly unclipped left and fell right. Yip you guessed it, the whole Coke table over. The ladies manning it were covered in it and were not smiling
  25. Bit off topic but I did the 'open heart' surgery on my 305 with the 'intermitent, very that is, power off issue'. The glue takes 24 hours to dry so will only try it next week. Holding thumbs!
