  1. I'm not interested in the smoothies or coffees, nice bonus but not a driver. Reached my max 30 000 points for activities already. Don't have a CrApple Watch so no concern. Gym I signed up yonks ago so don't pay a dime as long as I go 36 times in 12months. BUT: I am way more interested in the new flight benefits that will be coming, free base fare if you meet your weekly Acitvity Rewards points. That's my gripe, I want to go visit my family for free. Will wait and see anyway. p.s can you imagine being a Vitality Social media manager right now, flame suit of epic proportions!
  2. Been following it a bit on Twitter, they quickly making excuses for cutting Suunto, saying that they are working with them to create a direct link instead of going through Strava, again, something they perhaps should have adressed before making sweeping changes considering how many people use Suunto. It's almost as if the healthier clients are getting the short end of the stick vs unhealthier couch surfers? I'm not interested in training with an Apple/ Samsung watch and defintiely not getting a Polar or Garmin so i'm screwed until Suunto comes on board? Fun times!
  3. So where does it mention the cap of 1200 points required per week is changing?
  4. So the Wife uses a FitBit Charge HR, you can start a "workout"and it'll measure Heart Rate but does the Vitality app recognise that if it's linked?
  5. Try @TeamVitalitySA as well, they seem to be the fastest responders
  6. Park Run points normally show up on Wednesday, it takes a while.
  7. My iPhone works ok but I know they were having serious bugs with the Android app. Suggestion they gave me the last time was delete and re-install, first suggestion. Otherwise, don't ever bother e-mailing them, go onto Facebook and find Discovery Vitality page (which is separate to the Discovery Health page) and send them a message on the page, they respond promptly when it's on the public forum.
  8. Nut Milk Smoothie for me, sounds very strange but tastes great. Fitbit makes it easier to get the correct points. 12500 steps gets you 200 points plus it also seems to measure steps when you ride??? Plus add "team" members and if you and 2 others get the goal, another free smoothie/ coffee. Basically if I get my goal and my team, 2 smoothies a week, Nut Milk is R40 a pop and that's definitely getting my money back that I pay for vitality. Even better, the fact I'm still on the old VA System, free as long as I go 3 times a month. I'm a sucker for free stuff!
  9. Great event and couldn't be happier to have completed my first TB. Only downside was the lack of Food available for Support Crew, which they mentioned would be at CP5 for Support to purchase but only coffee was available. Not too sure if anyone else had this issue or perhaps it just ran out?
  10. 4 left! 600km, 30hours (which incidentally I have done but not showing) 200km and 12 hours
  11. Aaah, saw your Bali pics, hitting Sumatra in 2 weeks time and those Bintangs are going to be amazing! The Nomad and Tarpon look great, going to DM for details if that's cool?
  12. @seantick https://instagram.com/seantick/
  13. 4 left: 600km and 30hrs Plus the 200km and 12hrs in 7 days, which I missed by 25km and 25mins respectively! 2 more weeks to catch up though!
  14. Doesn't seem to make a difference when you do it during the 4 weeks according to the T's&C's: "All badges will be made available upfront and will need to be completed within the four week period."
  15. Sheesh, there are some machines clocking up the badges already, nearly 6000m ascent in 4 days! Glad it's a random draw and not first to collect all the badges! Keep up the hard work!
  16. I think there's a lot of people who thought it was open to the public, seeing loads of riders using it since the Epic Prologue.
  17. Blockhouse yesterday morning!
  18. While everyone is getting those hydration packs from Native Sports, I ordered one of these from http://www.swindle.co.za Absolute bargain and delivered for free the next day! https://swindle.co.za/shop/bike/hydration-packs/waterman-hydration-pack-2l.html
  19. Yip, plus the dangerous reasoning of, it'll never happen to me, i'm not that stupid!
  20. Just a brief lesson, went for a run a couple weeks ago, misjudged time, distance, route and nutrition all in one savage go! Basically left home just after 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, from Rhodes Memorial to Kirstenbosch and up Skeleton Gorge, up to Maclears and across to Platteklip Gorge. Things started going south from there when I realized I needed food so went to the Cableway Station which had closed already, by the time got down from the top and hit Tafelberg Road it was dark, pulled out the headlight and batteries started dying, ended up getting home at 9pm, in the dark all the way from Tafelberg down to Rhodes Memorial and finally getting home, worst experience ever! Moral of the story, make sure you check the route, tell people where you going, don't think you are too tough to phone a friend for a lift, check batteries and make sure you have enough sustenance! Things could have ended up vastly different if something had happened but luckily I still get to run and ride another day! Lesson over!
  21. Be interesting to see the drop-out rate of those that signed up for more info when they first launched to how many actually pay and sign up when it starts officially.
  22. Not too sure if this is old but Nino Schurter has skills: http://youtu.be/4tUKHMCCg6E
  23. So what are these peer reviewed studies looking at? http://authoritynutrition.com/23-studies-on-low-carb-and-low-fat-diets/
  24. Never mind that hectic crash last year, awesome job!
