  1. Running a GRX 400 drivetrain with rapide extender on an 11-46 (10 spd) cassette with a 42T in the front. Works quite well.
  2. Maxxis makes the Velocita and the Receptor. Both pretty slick and available in 700x40c.
  3. I've seen guys all the way to the top, but didn't want to jump any fences... haha
  4. Long day that… 🤣
  5. You’re not alone 🤣🤣
  6. Epic route! I can see the towers from my driveway - but havn’t been up there in more than a year. It’s TOUGH! You can get some pretty decent snow up there in winter though…
  7. No idea, but a few guys around that do auto/bike wraps if you look via google. Maybe an option as well?
  8. Some great spots to ride out here. Very few built trails, but plenty of rough, natural land. Your list above covers plenty, but there’s anlot of unmarked stuff not associated with cellars, etc. There’s also plenty of decent gravel between Worcester, Robertson, Eilandia and McGregor. Have a look on strava - christo van der westhuizen - it’s public! Cheers, Christo
  9. That it is! 4 years? wow!
  10. Hi Guys, Thanks for the interest. Some feedback. I’m not going to go into too much detail. There are some red faces around town after all of this. The parties involved had - in my honest opinion - no knowledge of the fact that the bike was stolen. If anything, it was a naïve buy from a first time buyer initially. The parties involved were however very gracious in handling the situation and made all efforts to return the bike in good order. Some good lessons learnt all round. Cheers, Christo

  12. Bike has been recovered. 15 Months later ????
  13. That is true… hahaha If you can get a 2020 model somewhere for below 20k, you’re getting quite a lot for your cash though.
  14. Nice design and decent spec for price. And local. If you were nit-picking, their weight is probably the biggest disadvantage. That being said, if I had to replace my Scott RC900 comp, the Cypher RS Elite would be high on the list.
  15. Have a look at the Scott Speedster 30 gravel as well. I've had mine for a year now and it's a gem - R20k new price last year and it comes with a 2x10 ShimanoGRX with hydraulic discs. Definitely worth a look.
  16. A little trip around Apiesklip, Worcester. Nice winter weather....
  17. Give Oakley Radar EV a go - best yet in my experience!
  18. Brilliant video! Loved it!
  19. Look, I had a decent challenge on a reasonable gravel bike. Chapeau to the guys on vintage steel - it must have been a bugger!
  20. Love the write up! Such a fantastic, friendly event - would be back there tomorrow if I could. Stan an his team deserve a HUGE handful of kudo’s on hosting this in a vert difficult time. What a pleasure to ride with you guys! (and thanks for my butt on the pics... ????????????)
  21. Should be good fun! Looking forward to some Koo Valley gravel!
  22. I've used Rapide, SRAM and absolute black in the past and to be honest, I couldn't feel the difference. As for quality, they all make great product. Would go for any one of them in future. Rapide is very well priced and their service is great
  23. Try Jonaskop ouside Worcester - about 14.75km at around 8% avg. Nice one! (gravel/mtb)
