  1. That buy a donkey video is definitely worth a watch! Rae Trew-Browne, Bas Rotgans and Max Riese give a great view of some of the route and the challenges!
  2. agreed with the above - buying a new bike is a big expense AND a big adjustment. ride your bike and enjoy!
  3. What a brilliant cause!
  4. Thanks for the support! @DJuice 🦾
  5. Lekker! Sterkte ou maat!
  6. padstal terug deur waatlemoenfontein en r355 suid to weer bd padstal 🦾
  7. Mate of mine bought a 2021 Cypher RS pro earlier this year. Lovely bike! Well worth the cash. And it's local
  8. I'm using the Indola Girona bibs and they work really well on rides of 6h plus. Good quality, well priced and local.
  9. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  10. Any takes on the gravel bike tyres (locally available) with the best sidewall protection? I’m running maxxis rambler 700x38c and while they are pretty good, every issue seems to be sidewall related. Obviously tyre pressure, terrain, etc makes a difference. I ride on harsh gravel/shale 98% of the time. May just bad luck… or technique…! Amy thoughts?
  11. This way or that. Did the shortened version last year and it is, hands down, the coolest biking event I’ve been to. Great route, great people, superb organization, etc. Cannot fault these guys. Just bummed to be missing out on the full gran fondo Eroica this time around 😬
  12. Running a GRX 400 drivetrain with rapide extender on an 11-46 (10 spd) cassette with a 42T in the front. Works quite well.
  13. Maxxis makes the Velocita and the Receptor. Both pretty slick and available in 700x40c.
  14. I've seen guys all the way to the top, but didn't want to jump any fences... haha
  15. Long day that… 🤣
  16. You’re not alone 🤣🤣
  17. Epic route! I can see the towers from my driveway - but havn’t been up there in more than a year. It’s TOUGH! You can get some pretty decent snow up there in winter though…
  18. No idea, but a few guys around that do auto/bike wraps if you look via google. Maybe an option as well?
  19. Some great spots to ride out here. Very few built trails, but plenty of rough, natural land. Your list above covers plenty, but there’s anlot of unmarked stuff not associated with cellars, etc. There’s also plenty of decent gravel between Worcester, Robertson, Eilandia and McGregor. Have a look on strava - christo van der westhuizen - it’s public! Cheers, Christo
  20. That it is! 4 years? wow!
  21. Hi Guys, Thanks for the interest. Some feedback. I’m not going to go into too much detail. There are some red faces around town after all of this. The parties involved had - in my honest opinion - no knowledge of the fact that the bike was stolen. If anything, it was a naïve buy from a first time buyer initially. The parties involved were however very gracious in handling the situation and made all efforts to return the bike in good order. Some good lessons learnt all round. Cheers, Christo
